trunk keyhole reverse camera?
#27
I mounted my Kenwood reverse cam above my license plate. There was already a hole there so no drilling was needed. The view while reversing is amazing, even at night, and I haven't had any issues with the rain.

The over all idea came from having a black car and not liking the silver key hole on the back of my trunk i thought about painting it and was at the same time looking at reverse cams for my pioneer z2 when i saw the round one on ebay......... i know its been done but thought it would be a cool concept vs. having the key hole shaved or painted make use of the hole.

well purple it finally came in!
Well i just finished this about 15mins ago so here it is! I put a backup camera in place of my key hole on the trunk( now i know some of you are thinking "hey what happens if your solenoid goes bad?" well easy i re-routed one of the seat pulls to the little baby seat latch opening on the rear deck, so when that day comes i can pop the little door and pull the release!), its pluged into my panosonic head unit, it has night vision and i was only able to take these pics at night so the grains in the headunit is due to its auto nightvision mode, but ealier when i test fitted it and powered it up, the day time vision is perfectly clear, heres the pics!!!
