my 2 biggest rattle points are the rear deck (yes i already removed the child seat caps) and the rear view miror. I am going to dynamat the trunk lid and deck, I am using a ruberised spray for the botom of the trunk and i will be dynamatting the doors too!

Mine only rattles a little. Pioneer 800 watter with 2 Infinifty 10's. I like it though. They were in my Cadillac first, and you couldn't hear a damn thing outside of the car. Period.

best advice i can give is what iceman57 said...but i'm not sure what he means by the "sound deading spray"...go to any home improvement store and buy some MINIMAL EXPANDING insulating foam (i used DAP) for $2....1 or 2 cans should fill all the cevices in the trunk..then dynamat over it....never ever ever use triple expanding or any other foam...your trunk will buckle like crazy

If you don't want ur car to rattle don't put subs in it.

Subs=rattle

No subs=no rattle

So in other words...the mad rattling that's comming from my trunk isn't my subs at all? It's just everything else back there getting beat to hell? lol. If I put my back seats forward, will that release some of the pressure?

Not true.....ive sseen cars that don't make the rattling noises like this car does. However yes the mirors rattle. but i've never been in a car were its rattled inside so much.

putting the seats down definitly helps to negate the pressure in the trunk, but you will also notice more rattles inside the vehicle that weren't there before.......but it also makes the bass louder, believe me!

Work on one rattle at a time. Turn the volume up just enough till you hear the first rattle, figure out what it is and fix it. Continue with more volume till you can kill as many rattles as possible. With my last car I ended up having to completely take the truck and lights apart, putting dampener and sound barrier where ever I could, expanding foam in places like the ribs under the trunk and under the rear deck. Then lined the entire thing with 1 layer of raammat, one layer of ensolite, then another layer of raammat. The headliner just got a single layer of ensolite, doors got one layer of raammat, one layer of ensolite same on the floorboard with another layer of each on the firewall(2 layers of raammat, 2 ensolite). After spending many days nitpicking there wasn't a rattle to be found, and this was 2 L7s each with a DX700 pushing it in a shared port box with each sub having 3.27 ft^3, I can't remember my port volume, my original tune was 31hz but I brought it up a little, not sure where it ended up. If I didn't have the windows open you could hear some vibration here and there, but no "rattles", kind of hard to make 153.1db play nice without concrete. Another trick for the trunk specifically rattling is to lower the latch for it a little, make it so you have to slam the trunk to close it, this will make a tighter seal and help a bit.

Another bonus of adding a dampener and sound barrier is that it will tighten up your bass and help the overall SPL(well as sloppy as my L7s were in that box, there was no helping their tightness). Also remember a dampener is just that, it dampens vibrations in the metal but isn't made to stop sound. If you want a sound barrier, get that. The best is a combination of both. One layer of dampener on the metal to help vibration, one layer of sound barrier, then you can either juse use a piece of vinyl to decouple the sound or another layer of dampener to really do the trick. (or use a barrier like B-quiet Vcomp that has a decoupler already).

I don't know about the SS, but most cars have a few bolts holding the little loop in place. You usually have to take the trim off to get to the bolts, but you loosen them just enough so you can tap it in the direction you want. Don't loosen them all the way or you'll be spending an hour trying to get it lined up right :p
