tweeter question
I just installed an 840watt MTX thunder amp which is running polk-momo edition speakers in the front and back and my pioneer headunit. Im am wanting to get some tweeters and im thinking i should power them off the stock headunit since its power is presumably not being used at the moment. it is a 60w headunit, will is deliver enough power to make the tweeters noticeable or should i do it some other way? I plan on getting a new headunit and another amp with a single 10 inch sub pretty soon since i like bass but i like to hear my music too. lol
anyways help is appreciated

what does a crossover do exactly? would i be dumb not to amplify the tweeters? one more question: when you run a component speaker system in the front with a speaker / tweeter/ crossover, does this take the power of 2 wires, what i mean is would i need a 6 way amp to power this or could i use my 4 way. hard to say what i mean.

most crossovers only have a single input. In all reality a tweeter only uses 25w max. they dont move much to make sound so u dont need much power. Amplifying the tweet is going to get you more volume but not much more because not all that much makes it to the tweeter anyway
A crossover keeps the tweeter from playing notes its not supposed to. A tweeter is very small so it can move very fast and very little to reproduce the very high freqs. If u tried to make it play 20hz it would blow

well most decent tweeters come with them anyways so you might as well use it i would think
thanks for the help man.
any suggestions on a good crisp 10inch sub? i dont want overpowering bass just some nice thumps, i dont like to crank of the bass settings on my speakers, i would rather turn it down and have a sub do most of the work and get light bass out of the midranges. I guess Im asking brand and wattage to mate up nicely with my polk db's which run at 75w rms, they are getting full power from my amp.
