if your antenna is plugged in to the car and you bought the antenna adapter and that is plugged into the radio... i would check to see if anything came loose in the back of the car. if not id check to see if the antenna adapter is broken (if your car is a 07+).... the chrysler antenna adapters have that lil pin in the middle and they break pretty easily

try peeling back the carpet in the back and double checking the antenna is still plugged in.

how do you hook up the radio using the Gmos-04? The output side of the harness only has 1 wire for each speaker..but radio harness still requires 2 for each wire...?? Its an avic d-3

well you shouldnt be using that harness at all. but it should have 2 per speaker. the gm-lan-04 will only have rca outputs for the pioneer system.

Hi, totally new here. Um, I've been having a hard time trying to find out if a new, aftermarket head unit would work with a factory XM satellite module?

no. the only thing you "might" be able to reuse would be the antenna. You would need to buy the aftermarket XM modules

I figured as much. I was trying to find a tuner for the Sony cdx-gt540ui (which is apparently not compatible with the XMDSON100 and Universal Tuner), but the only one I found was the xm-xt1, which is not sold anywhere.

yep your right

one last question though. What causes the loud "thump" or "thud" sound when the car is turned off and the radio with it.

that is normally the radio turning off before the car. the remote for the factory amp and or remote for any aftermarket amp should be hooked up to the remote from the radio

yeah thats what I thought...however..say your radio didn't have a remote/amp turn on wire. My Gmos harness has the amp turn on wire..but my radio doesn't. My radio has a Power Antenna Wire..but the Gmos doesn' thave a Power Antenna Wire. Right now the Amp Turn on Wire is connected to the Power Antenna wire.

Is there another wire I can change to where it doesn't do this and powers down correctly?

not really. the power antenna should work even thou its not a true remote out. The only option other then replacing the radio would be to buy ground loop isolators for the rcas and hope that helps. but thats really a shot in the dark

OK, so I finally got around to purchasing the correct XM tuner and also a new cd deck (Sony CDX-GT540UI). I soldered the wires of the cd harness to a Metra 70-2103 harness and bought the necessary stuff (dash kit, antenna adapter...). But when I plugged it in, nothing happened. The faceplate didn't light up or anything. The rest of the car ('06 Cobalt LS) worked perfectly normal, just not the radio. When I checked the layout of the factory harness, it was not only different in color, but one of the pins didn't match up with the Metra harness. Any suggestions?

hard to tell on a module harness like that. id say test the acc and constant and see if both are getting voltage. in most cases a cd player will make that noise when first connected to constant, so if u keep hearing it thats defiantly weird

I had it connected to a wiper fuse (fuse #15) in the floor panel, 10 A I believe. I checked the stock harness and there's a green wire that when attached to the metra 70-2103 harness, is actually not connected to anything in the harness. But neither is the blue antenna wire from the metra harness. Both wires are in a different pin space.
