Unless it's an electrocell capacitor it wont due **** for high powerd system. And those caps are twice as expensive as a battery. Yellow top will take care of it unless you have two w7's with 2 1000/1's if not you don't need more power then that. 1 just installed a 500/1 with a W3 and I have it loud as hell and it doesn't DIM anything at all and sounds crazy!

ya optimas normally go for 175- 200 around here but that carquest ngt extreme is half the price all the power

i've got an 09 SS with the built in bluetooth and i recently installed the kenwood ddx512. i thought this would mean that i would lose my bluetooth capability but low and behold its still there. now my question is, is there any harness out there that will allow me to use the steering wheel button to answer my calls? that's how its setup stock but as of now i have to fumble with my phone to answer. i've seen the adapters to allow me to integrate the volume/next/previous buttons but nothin for the bluetooth buttons

looking to purchase double-din screen

I've been browsing sonicelectronix.com for a couple months on a few double din screens and im looking to spend around the $240-$300 mark for a setup. Are the brands that they have such as PowerAkoustik, Pyle, Dual, and Boss audio really that bad? A few of the ones that ive been looking at have very good reviews. For the price which includes the harness and installation accessories its almost to good to pass up. I'm leaning more towards the Boss or Dual units, as ive heard more about them. I used to think Power Akoustik was a good name brand but their prices are a bit low which worries me. Can any body shed some light on this for me?

are they that bad? i don't think anyone can give you a straight answer on that. Overall look of the units is normally awesome, build quality is slighty sub par. Ive yet to see a good pioneer come back for anything yet i have warrantied or attempted to warranty too many Power akoustik's and jensens. The main diffrence is the actual software in the unit. all the cheap **** will have 2 decent pictures and the rest will be early nineties dos like nonsense( you may find a few that are better then that but not many) The quality stuff will look like a nice computer and be easy to navigate ect ect.

One thing you need to look at is the price of the cheaper units vs the quality ones. I believe one member here found a pioneer 4000dvd for 375 free shipping. so for the extra 75 you get a much better deal in the end. If that is really that much more then your willing to spend then you probably shouldn't be getting a video unit in the first place. No one puts low grade fuel in their ss/sc because the price difference is much more marginal then the effect it does on your engine. Same thing here... save 25% and risk getting a piece of ****

not really only way would be an aftermarket HU with direct ipod control and a steering wheel interface

makes plenty of sense to me... alot of the shops sell the boss stuff around here but soniclectronix always has a better price for everything that ive noticed.. i REALLY want the pioneer p4000 buy my buddy that got me the discounts previously doesnt work there anymore..... thnx for all the help.

ill be 100% honest with you the reason for that is dealer mark up. at a shop they have both MSRP and MAP (min advertised price) for most items plus they have to sell equipment at a higher price to pay employees building lights ect to run the business. Now sonic electronix is a different story along with ebay. Sonic electrox works by selling equipment at slightly higher then cost and moving alot of it. a shop wont stay in business if they only make 10 bucks per head unit sold but sonic electronix will. Plus about 3/4 the stuff they have they get some type of discount from. whether that be direct from the manufact due to selling such a high volume of product or buying discontinued stuff and selling it for the same cost+ 2% or whatever.

Head units in general don't turn a profit due to the cost vs msrp but alot of times you can find them on ebay or these other sites for cheaper then a shop buys them for... sometimes even cheaper then employee discount. Hence when people ask for the hook up on head units i tell em to get lost. I physically can get and sell pretty much anything you can find but never the same price as ebay
