Thanks again for the help,

I purchased an aftermarket HU, The harness has 8 speaker wires, then:

yellow - battery lead
red - acc power
black - ground
orange- unknown/not used
orange/white - unknown/not used
blue - unknown/not used

other than the unused wires, using the Metra 70-2103 will more or less match wires correct?
How do I pull power, by running the yellow wire to a power source?

orange & orange white just cap off so they dont touch anything. If you have the pioneer system then you will need to hook up blue to the 70-2103 to turn on the stock amp. If not then cap it off so its not touching anything

ACC or red is the one not in the car. you will need to run the supplied wire to the fusebox with an add a fuse or fusetap

I have a 08 ls without pioneer and onstar. I got the 70-2202 and of course a aftermarket hu. Out of the hu is yellow, black, red, orange/white, blue/white, grey, grey/black, white, white/black, purple, purple/black, and green, green/black. I hooked them to the same color on the metra 70-2202 and plug the metra to the factory harness. I still have a orange only wire left from the metra. When I turn on the car nothing happens. What's wrong?!?!?

Anyone know?

sooo, any ideas on how to make a cd player fit? mine sticks out a bit, its that damn bracket in the back thats stopping it. Is it safe to dremel that, it seems like the heating/ac ducting runs behind it. any input or how to on this would be great!

Alright here's where I'm confused. Is this for 05-06 only? Because I didn't fuse tap any wire. My GMOS Lan 04 has a red wire, and I connected it to the red wire on the hu, and it works fine.

Secondly I'm confused with these two wires below. Where do I connect them? My hu doesn't have these color wires, unless their different color wires on the hu.

"2. Connect the blue/pink wire to the VSS or speed sense wire of the aftermarket navigation radio."

"3. Connect the green/purple wire to the reverse wire of the aftermarket navigation radio"

And lastly, I don't get what they mean with the black/yellow wire. Do I just connect it to the ground wire? What do they mean about tapping?

Ive looked through several pages.. The sites so slow its finally killed me.. I have the 06 SS/SC without onstar.. pioneer sound system blah blah lol. I need to know the minimum I have to buy to get an aftermarket deck to work. Local shops, crutchfield and best buy tell me I need a harness thats 170 dollars(90 from crutchfield) to get it to work. I look at the harness on crutchfield and the harness has the DIC underneath the stereo... I dont need that do i? my DIC is underneath the tach. Cant I save myself the hassle and just get:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1272RGM...n-Adapter.html
(60 dollars through crutchfield)
and the deck and thats it? well it comes with:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142GM15...eiver-Kit.html of course so you know what I mean.
