Valor ITS-702W installation in 2006 Cobalt SS
Out of the box, here is what we had:
Valor ITS-702W head unit
PAC C2R-GM11B replacement interface
PAC SWI-X steering wheel control interface
We are having a problem locating where the IR wire (gray wire) coming out of the back of the new head unit needs to be connected. The directions we received were not all that great.
We were able to track down an accessory connection to get the steering wheel control interface working but now we are puzzled as to where to connect the IR wire.
The instructions we received were not all that great and we spent a lot of time soldering and testing the connections at times to find what we needed because the instructions we received are not well written.
Help!
We called Crutchfield ... there was a little bit of confusion with regards to the IR wire coming out of the back of the deck. You don't need it. Just be sure that if you are installing this particular deck in an '06 Cobalt, tie this wire off because you won't be needing it. Make sure you run an accessory wire from the key-on source to Pin A10 because that's the only way you'll have power back to the steering wheel control unit. Once that was done, all we had to do was program it, and it worked perfectly.
