What size? If its a 12" or over then I would suggest a 1000/1. But why do you want to go with JL?

Not tryin to be rude but personally I like JL I just dont like the prices. For how much they are I could have a very nice alpine set-up. JL tries to compare to Rockford Fosgate but their amps come nowhere close. JL's amps are what I really dont like.

Jl is worth the prices!!! Easily...RF amps, well at least any of them in the last 3 years really suck, go old school kicker zr's, way old school (like mid-late nineties) RF or the new memphis amps...

Because the W6's are great subs. Like he said, what amp woudl you reccomend for two 12" W6V2s I'd suggest a MTX amp of about 500 watts RMS. Any more than that and honestly you'll run out of juice without running a second battery, and a larger alt. I have a serious setup in my T/A and my limiting factor is lack of battery and Alt so if I run hard my car will stall. ANd then I'm stranded with a dead Optima Yellow top.

If you really want quality **** get the Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 It pushes about 1400-1600 watts rms. Its about three years old but if you can find one it will last you forever. Dont get the new Phoenix Gold **** either that stuff is over rated.

And also if anyone has had a Phoenix Gold amp you know the sound quality is outstanding. And if i was you i would just get 2 10" Alpine type X's you can find them for pretty cheap now. Try www.etronics.com and for the coupon code put freeship and youll get free shipping. Make sure when getting an amp you get to much power because if you get a 500Rms amp and you run it at that usually the sound quality will really suck.

Get a RF T5002 promise that will push those 2 12W's

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...1&locale=en_US

Alpine Type-X is the way to go!!!

I would recommend the JL 500.1, JL is underrated...and their subs don't require much power to push them hard either...I love them because they won me many sq competitions back in the day....and even a few spl comps. I won spl with a 139.9 with only 2 12' w0's YES w 0's!! But I spent much time planning ports and sound deflection and the like...those were the good days!

I have a JL 500/1 but I dont like it just because you cant drop Ohm loads!! thats what makes an amp work!

Dropping ohms is for lazy people. 4 ohms = all night slamming. 2 or less and you'll hit the protection circut too often because of heat buildup.

Yes, the JL amp will only go to 1.5Ohms dropping Ohms is not for lazy people its for people that want more bass out of their equipment. Thats why RF power amps are good cause they will go below 1Ohm stable. When you drop Ohm levels on amps you almost double the power!

This is a RF Power series T1000.1 amp 799.99 on their site

500 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms
750 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms
1000 W x 1 @ 1 Ohm

notice when the Ohms drop the power increaces!

Here is your JL amp

1000 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm - 4 ohm (11V-14.5V) for 999.95

And the lower your Ohm loads will give you alot more bass and alot harder hit! Get an amp that can handle at least 1 Ohm stable or lower.

I had 2 fosgate power hx2 10's and these w6 blow them away!! And there more than half the weight!!!! Spend the cash on the w6's you be very happy. If in houston pm me and come take a listen.

Not like I haven't man. What you forget though is all that extra power causes huge ammounts of heat. Go run 1ohm for an hour during a hot day with the trunk closed. You'll hit protect in 30 min gaurenteed. Sure going down makes the power increase, your not running the resistance you were before. The resistance form the speakers/wiring is what's limiting your power (of course) and also keeping it all from overheating. Just like a computer these things love the cold, so they can disipate the heat they generate.

Another thign to consider is such a huge ammount of wattage being put into a regular driver is gonna kill your battery. So when your car suddenly dies after about 30 sec of pounding away at you know have a good idea as to why it happened.

Thats why you don't mount the amp where it dosen't get any air. Mount it up high, and if your gonna put it esle where wire in some fans to cool it down. Plus if you have a bad ass amp why not show it off.

Where is teh best place to mount an amp to give it added airflow, or where the air mvoes through the most?

Top of box where it can breathe, out in open. Just somewhere where its visible and you can easily see it. Don't try to hide it or cover it with wood, esp. if your running 2Ohm or less.
