What Autozone Just Told Me
I just got back from Autozone, went to price a battery, he took my info and looked it up in there system, it showed there is a Duralast listed but they do not have it and can not order it because it is not in there supply chain? OK so I ask the price of the Optima yellow top(D34),
He tells me I can NOT use a Optima battery because my battery is a group 90 and has a vent tube, I tell him I know, but the opt. is a sealed batt., he tells me since the opt. has no vent it can not be used in cabin, has to have a vent? What **** is this, tons of cobalt owners are using Optima batts. I just left.

Call corporate, and have his ass fired for denying sales to a customer. I hate going to autozone or advance. Kinda feel sorry for the guy or girl on the computer and i have to tell them how things work.

alright. i gotta chime in on this. Autozone is ****!!
sorry for the long post. I hate autozone!!
i used to work for autozone as a part time job in high school. i ended up quitting for several reasons. most of all, you're right, they are dumbasses. they are very dishonest as well. when i was working there, they told us to memorize the part number on the small packets of brake lubricant so we could type it in when we rang the customer out. when the new brakes would come in, we would put the brake lubricant in the boxes and then just type the part number in when the customer bought them so they wouldn't see us ringing them up. a lot of people don't look at their reciepts and just pay whatever is asked so most people didn't realize this....thats shady. autozone is way behing the curve on ordering parts as well. for example, most oreilly's stores can get a "common" part that they don't have in stock within a couple of hours. as they have "hub" trucks doing runs up to 5 times a day for some stores. i used to work for them as well. i could go on and on about this but im not going to.
sorry for the thread jack man. i am just strongly opinionated on this and i had to give my comments

Haz l33t wheelz.
Went into an AutoZone once and asked for the longest lug bolt they had in 12x1.5
She refused to even look because i wouldn't tell her what car it was going on. I knew she would just punch in the car and try to sell me stock length bolts, and thats NOT what i was asking for.
In the end i just left because she was retarded.

i understand your pain with the lugs. autozone doesn't even train their employees to look at anything other than the computer. if its not in there, they can't get it. when i worked at oreilly's, our district manager required that we learned how to look up parts in the catalogs. oreilly's also has a customer serivce line for employees so if they can't find something, they can call them and they will find it for them. once again, autzone is ****

Yeah, and when they sell you the Optima and something goes wrong, now its on Autozone. I understand both sides of this particular argument. Dont get me wrong, i dont even waste my time at the Zone, but in this case, i can understand.

I always use autozone because they will take anything back. When I need something I just use the computer my self. When I was delivering pizzas in high school/ college, I went through brakes like crazy and I would just take them up there and they would give me a new set with no questions asked.

advance and autozone do some pretty dumb **** sometimes, but there local store is good about getting me parts at work. however, they also tell me that the fuel filter is not serviceable in the cobalts, and ive replaced it twice lol. napa is your best local parts store hands down, o'reilly's and B2B being behind them.
