does that mean i could have heated seats? or does it mean i just have those there for a sweet look? and need the heated crap in the seat installed

you need to talk with someone with heared seats and see if they have them used\unused and to make sure they are the same connector.

heated seats
or for power seats usually, but i dont think cobalts come with those...

No but a lot of times cars are just prewired for everything, so you may have connectors that go to nowhere. Just so that if the car has that option they don't have to spend extra time adding wiring. Makes the whole process more efficient.

I have heated seats and i just looked at mine and its plugged into the seats so i guess thats what that is for.

i got a plug like that on my passenger seat and it's plugged in but i dont have heated seats although i do have the passenger airbag warning.

Very true. I have an '88 Trans Am GTA (fully loaded, every option but t-tops) and I know of quite a few connectors that seem to have absolutely no purpose. No one knows what they are.
