The stock one.

Or optima red top if you really need it.

If you have harsh winters, or have a big stereo -> yellow top
If you just want a good starting battery -> red top

Don't waste your money on an overpriced Optima piece of crap. They don't last and go dead half the time. Any battery from an Autozone for $60 will do just fine and last much longer with less trouble.

And i think you are a joke.

The valucraft (which would be on the ONLY battery for $60) is a COMPLETE piece of ****... half the time it goes dead, or fried itself...

The "Red" top duralast which is the mid grade ALWAYS comes back within the 1st year to be replaced under warranty. You dont even know how many customers have been back 2-3 times for the SAME red battery... me ending up giving them a full refund.

The only one that is worth a damn is the Duralast Gold.

Oh, im a manager at an Autozone.. i see these pieces of ***** everyday.

Who's a joke?

Anyway, why do you need a new battery already in an '06 car? Also, are you already out of warranty?
Very rarely is it actually the battery's fault if it fails within the first couple of years. Usually, the battery has been cycled too many times (drained very low and then recharged), or overcharged by a malfunctioning voltage regulator. If you tend to play the stereo in your car for long periods of time with the engine off, or if you have some other consumer drawing battery power with the engine off, you may want to consider a deep-cycle battery (optima yellow top is one variety, but others are available). Also, check your charging voltage with the engine running and make sure it's above 13 but less than 14.5 volts.

A manager at Autozone...woo pee doo....so you got a 3rd grade education, am I suppose to be impressed?

Every $60-70 battery at Autozone ive bought has lasted 4+ years. Maybe your store just sells crap.

get a sealed battery preferablly an agm style deep cycle. But honestly it really depends on application. I normally recommend the carquest NGT extreme for peeps with systems (its a cheaper optima yellow top equivilant) but if your into racing and weight savings check out the powermaster xs power red starting batteries, for big systems where capacity and AH is needed check out the kinetik hc1800

I get free Optima's, and I'm a big fan of the yellow tops.

It's generally not the battery's fault if it goes dead prematurely. If you know what I mean.

Man just forget the jokers here. I'm sure everyone but a select few appreciates your input because as a manager of an autozone you see how customers react to batteries and what batteries come back in and such. I appreciate your advice, and I understand that by you saying you are a manager that you have experience with this by seeing a lot of batteries come and go. Unlike others here who apparently are rocket scientist and can apparently look down their nose at you because they are so much better then the rest of us.

This site is such a joke, people arguing over batteries and pulling the "I'm better then you card" because someone is a manager of an autozone and they are something different. How retarded. No wonder everyone that knows anything has gone elsewhere.

That's funny because the guys at work killed the battery on our F-350 4 door dually with the Triton V-10 and my car jumpstarted it right away without an issue! But hey my Optima redtop sucks according to some on here. In fact my Optima that I used to replace my old Cavalier's stock battery not only supported the car well, it added some extra oomph to my system I had in it.

On top of that since I'm an Bomb technician and use Remotec robots that have two Yellow Top batteries wired together in a 24V setup, our robots seem to last quite awhile to before charging is required, and when your working on an IED you definitely don't want that robot to die or else you a$$ is in a 80lb bombsuit doing a manual entry! OPTIMA BATTERIES FTW!

I had an Optima Redtop in my last car that went on forever.....even deep-cycled it 3-4 times when the battery died from a bad alternator.
