It may be simple but it gets the job done. Looks good and performs.

That blue ring on the vol dial lights up too but you can't see it in the pic

alpine 9855 deck, polk SR powered by a jl 300/2, 2 10 W6s slot ported box powered by 500/1 5 fearad cap.

Ive had this set up for 3 years 3 vehicles. i orginally had polk momos an i blew 4 sets and tweeter said i had to upgrade or the next time wouldnt be covered. That was the only problem ive had. I was originally going to get W7s but they wouldnt fit in my mark 8 i had a sealed box then. The subs are awesome in quality and output and they are underpowered. i ciould only imagine if i had a 1000/1. I have no installed it in my cobalt yet but if i do i think im going to sell my subs get a 750/1 HD amp and a 10W7 sealed box. my system turned every car i had into a rattle box lol so im going to focus on quality primarily instead of both. The one thing i learned through all the systems i have created is you can never regret buying an awesome qaulity sub ive had diamonds and jl and so far have heard nothing that compared in quality.

speaking of grounding the headunit....... my harness had a ground and then the plug in for my headunit did too

so i just grounded my harness but not the headunit....... it works for me, so i guess i shouldnt be worried

Yes you should
By default your running off the ant ground.
The ground in the harness goes to a ground in the car so you need to wire the ground from the head unit directly to the ground from the harness

What you have done is put a band aid on a bullet hole so to speak
