Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to attack JL Audio as the leading car audio company in the country for 6 years running now? I would like a for real answer, not some BS about how Rockford is better because of so and so. Thank you. On a side note I am an authorized dealer of both JL and Rockford and I would sell JL all day long if it weren't for all these teenagers coming in with the idea that Rockford is the best. I get the same problem with the Alpine garbage too.

I don't ever recall him saying there was something wrong with JL, just that he wanted some honest opinions of what RF gear people were running, What he didn't want was a bunch of dumb ass replies saying he should "just go with JL cause their better", and from what i've seen on the forums here, thats pretty much what eveyone does whenever anyone asks about a product. Instead of talking about an experience with the product, they just say to go with this product (ussually JL) cause it's "the best" or "it's better". I'm not saying JL is bad, just that no one likes to be force feed that it's the best. Go check it out yourself. If he's choosing to go with RF then we can give him some information to use.

FYI, I work at a Car audio shop, and have access to JL, RF, Diamond, Kicker, etc...I've heard most everything thats even close to common and many that aren't. I still like my RF equipment. If I could do the Cavalier over again, I would go with the same setup.

By the way, My ears don't seem to like JL equipment anymore than anything else, or any less then most.

I am running One T210d2 Fosgate sub in a ported 1.5 cubic inch box. My amp is a Memphis m-class 1000d running at one ohm. No problems other then the back shelf rattles and rear view mirror wont stay in place. I have over 10 pieces of 18x22 hushmat in the trunk and shelf and still rattles like no tomarrow.

Two Fosgate Punch P1 12" subs and 1000 watt Fosgate amp and Fosgate wiring.
Every car I've had, has had Fosgate everything except the Deck I seem to stay with Pioneer in that department.

I had 2 10" RF Punch HX2s in my extended cab Ranger powered by a RF 700X that had been tested and produced 901watts RMS. It sounded awesome. For the backs I had RF titanium coned 5x7's and in front a I had Infiniti Reference 5-1/4" components that ran off of a RF 9210G deck. I liked the Infiniti sound best, that's why I chose them up front. I was gonna run a second amp for the compnents and the backs, but I stripped the truck and traded it in for the Cobalt. I had hook-ups at Rockford so I got whole sale on everything, that is why I went with all RF stuff except the components.

I had a friend that had 2 Kicker 10" L5 powered by a Power Acustic amp in his '98 Cobra. One of the best sounding systems I have heard. The bass was incredible.

In my '07 Cobalt, I have a 15 yr old Punch 100 DSM which I installed just a few weeks ago. This amp has been in and out of more cars than Wilt Chamberlain has women. I bought it back in 1991 for just under $400 and have never regretted it.

AAMOF, I hit 135.5 dB in a dB Drag Comp in my old '92 Camaro with that amp running one 8 ohm, 12" MTX 4000 series sub (cheap $50 sub for those that don't know). I may have hit slightly more had the sub been a 4 ohm. Who knows.

I like that amp so much, about 3 yrs ago I bought a Punch 200ix DSM for $150 and have not regretted it either.

RF used to have the strongest, best sounding, most wattage/$$$ amps you could find. Unfortunately, American people are cheap asses, didn't see the value, and decided to jump the band wagon for cheap amps (Pyramid, Profile, Sherwood, etc.). That's the reason they've had to source out their manufacturing.

Anyway, please don't come in here preaching about a JL amp lasting 10yrs. and acting like it's the only amp that has done that. JL is also a good company, but it aggrivates me to no end when people preach **** like it's gospel and they have no idea what they're talking about. RF set the standards for todays "top of the line" amplifier companies.

BTW, I also have an Alpine 3527 amp that I bought in 1995 that still lives strong today. Yet another that's over 10 yrs old.

5 yrs ago a friend of mine bought a Punch 120.2 for $150 new. There was a sticker on it which read, "Made in Taiwan" on the circuit board.

Maybe their amps are assembled in USA, but the parts themselves aren't.
