Wires to pioneer sub cut

Wires to pioneer sub cut
I bought a 2008 ss Sunday and later noticed it has a pioneer sub in the back from the factory. Pretty interesting I thought as the car I had before was a plain jane 95 neon and this is the newest car I have EVER owned... pretty sad actually. Anyway, after realizing there was absolutely no sound coming from the sub I lifted up the carpet in the back and found the cord was cut and a purple and green wire sticking out. There are no other wires in the truck and nothing coming off the battery. Is there ANY way I can get this hooked back up or am I screwed. I also checked under the dash and the amp is still there if that helps any. Thanks in advance.

Was it actually cut or chewed by mice or something? Either a mouse chewed it and ull just have to reconnect it or somebody probably had a different sub hooked up and was to lazy to put it back together. I hate hacks

EmperorJJ1 who posted up above should be able to help you out. I had to cut the plug off the wire that runs from the amp to the sub. I then spliced wires from it to run to the sub.
So those wires are coming from the sub box? There is no other wires? You should have a wire there with a plug on the end coming from the amp. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

right that's aftermarket wiring right there. not stock at all. the stock wiring is some yellow, brown, yellow/black and black or some **** like that... and the stock wiring wouldn't go under the seat. its should be running along the stock wires thru the quarter panel area behind that carpet. I'm hesitant to believe anyone removed it because i have removed the wire myself in my car and it wasn't all that easy(not really hard but tedious and time consuming). On any car even close to stock i don't see how or why anyone would do that

why not see if you can get it working? did you check behind that carpet for wires?
what probably happened was the original owner upgraded. unplugged the stock connection threw it behind the carpet then ran their own amp/sub in the stock box. when trading it in they just put the stock back and either left that wiring there or didnt even hook it up

looks like they ran an aftermarket amp straight to the sub. There should be black and red wires with a plug on top of the enclosure and a set of wires with a plug coming from the stock amp. If they ran it the way i think they did. What you could do is pick up an amp and wire it from the radio to the sub bypassing the stock amp.

the factory amp is for all 7 speakers. and the channels that power the sub also power the 6X9. so in theory if the 6X9s are playing the sub should be able to bounce back to life once connected since the channels can't be "blown"
with that said can you tell me the colors of the wires tucked under? and on the sub is it a connector or just the 4 wires?

The tucked wires are colored
1. Dark blue with a white line
2. Light blue with a black line
3. Green maybe closer to turqoise with no visible white or black
4 Green with a black line
The lines from the sub are two red and two black with the connector at the end cut off.

ok the green black and dark blue white are a pair with the dark blue white being positive
and the light blue black and the green are a pair with the green being positive
so on the sub box you have ur 2 reds and ur 2 blacks what you need to do is figure out which 2 go together. the easier way is with a 9v battery. touch a red and a black to the pos and neg of the bat and see if the sub moves out. if it does those 2 are a pair hook them up to one set of wires. then just for verification do the same on the remaining 2 and if it moves out then hook them up to the remaining 2 wires and you are done
THe second option takes out the need for the 9v battery but in hindsight you should really do it that way to ensure polarity (the sub moves out instead of in)
