wiring question

First off don't think about this question being for under-glows, i just need some help on wiring up a switch. The switch on my under-glows has stopped working, so i bought a new switch. the switch i have now has the positive, negative, and ground connectors. but when i cut my under-glow wire by the switch there are four wires in it. i am assuming that they are for each individual under-glow. i am wondering how i can hook them up to my new switch? is it even possible?

im not sure i understand your question but im assuming that you have 2 underglow lights right?

if thats the case then there are 2 wires coming off EACH light, a power and a ground wire. So those 4 wires you see are 2 positive and 2 ground wires.

you should just take the ground wire from each light (usually the black wire) and ground it somewhere on the chassis. then, get a switch with 2 prongs and run the positive wires to the first prong, then from the second prong, connect a wire that goes to the sunroof fuse or something else that turns off when you turn off the ignition.

if you do that, the underglow will only light up when the car key is in the ACC position, and you will still have switch to turn em on and off whenever you want

there are 4 underglow lights. one for the front, back, and each side. i hooked them to a switch and got them to turn on. then when i turned the switch to turn them off then back on i blew a 25 amp fuse? is this because my ground wire ewas not grounded well enough? because that takes a lot to blow a fuse.
