wiring question..

i am redoing the wiring for my interior lighting due to a cross in the wires somewhere near the switches. since im redoing that, i was going to use all new wiring so its all uniform and clean. its a rats nest of different gauge wiring and is just a head ache. any specific guage i should or get something easy to work with and keep it consistant? id put up a pic of the mess, but im appalled at my own work. it needs redoing badly.

^thanks, thats what i was thinking, just wanted to be safe and not cause any potential shorts or possible overloading on too small of a gauge.

I wired my AEM Digital Boost, Volt, & A/F Gauge into a harness with 16 AWG and it's fine. The voltage that goes through the wiring is next to nothing.

i did my interior leds with mostly 24 gauge i believe. i have the switches hidden in the little cubby on the driver side that folds down. i have 4 switches in there, when i turn them one right to left, the two farthest on the right dont work until the farthest one on the left is flipped on. sadly, i checked to make sure none of the connectors are crossed, and they are all clear, so it has to do with my failure of a harness for it. have the new harness done with 18gauge and split into 4 ends nicely. color coding the wiring to prevent any head aches lol.
