Wiring up aftermarket fog lights

First off, I am pretty dumb when it comes to wiring up electronics. I can follow a how-to good, but I cant find one. I installed my fog lights a few weeks ago and took them to my buddy because I wanted to have them turn on with the ignition switch rather than me worry about turning them on and off. Well, he hooked them up and they worked great, except for the fact that I started to smell a burnt smell which led to me blowing my fuse for my ignition. The fuse that blew was the 2 amp one in the dash and the fuse in the harness for the lights is a 10amp. So obviously the lights are drawing to much.

Can anyone help me out as to where to run my power wire so they turn on and off with the car?

Thanks

wire them up to the fuse under the hood that is labeled for the low beam headlights

and if u want to control when they are on or off then juts run a switch into your dash sumwhere and they will turn off when the headlights turn off even if you do leave the switch on
