wiring up radar detector

i just need to know what fuse to run this to to get power. I tried using the audio system (radio) fuse, but for some reason it kept the radar detector powered even when the radio was off and the key was out of the car. Any suggestions on what fuse to run this to? Thanks!

If you have a SS S/C i just tapped into the power for the boost gauge, works fine.

well thanks for posting that but it doesn't really help me out because I don't want constant power to it, and I don't want to install a switch. What i want, is to know what fuse I can use that will turn on the radar detector when the car is on, and turn it off when the car is off. On my cavalier the radio fuse did this, its not the same for the cobalt, so what fuse can i use?

any other fuse that is activated by the ignition.
I would recommend your windshield wiper.

The boost gauge works this way. Do you have an SS S/C?

Goto your local auto store. Pick something up called Add-a-fuse mini (i think its mini but if you look at your fuse's you will be able to tell by the looks) then run it directly to your fuse box using that. Fuse box should be located on the passanger side of the car behind the panel below the radio and HVAC housing. Or just look in your user manual. Hope this helps....if you need me to clarify let me know I will try my best :-)
