XM Radio With Factory Deck 05-06 SS/SC

A local guy purchased a used 06 SS/SC and it has XM radio with the factory deck! I've never seen it before and never even knew it was possible with the 05 and 06 balts. It definitely didn't come factory with it. The antenna is in the same spot as the 07 and up Cobalts but you can tell someone installed it there after the fact. The antenna itself is different from the factory one also. Has anyone done this or hooked it up to their factory radio? I would love to get rid of my display suction cupped to my windshield and use the factory deck. Any help would be great.

That's sweet. I never knew you could get them with XM. That's what I don't know. Is it the radio that needs to be changed or can I tap into the existing radio somehow.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a 2nd plug in the back of the radio for the XM. The radio itself has AM, FM, CD, and XM. Don't think it's possible to just tap in and add XM

u can ask GM not sure if they would know or not thou. they probably didnt make them XM ready in the sense of people going to a dealership to add xm to cars that didnt come with it but that doesnt mean it wont work.
