Hey guys.. here is what I ended up with..

2006 Jetta 2.5L I-5 engine.. It's the back half of the Gallardo engine.

Some nice features.. A/T 6 spd w/ tiptronic, heated leather, 6 CD in-dash, Sunroof.. among lots of other crap.

Here are some interior pics.. I'll take some of the outside when it's not so rainy/shity/crappy/cloudy out.

Those wheels look amazing, wish they had something like that for the 5x110 bolt pattern

Hmm.... nice interior over all... gotta give props to the transmission as well.

Too bad it's slower than a Cobalt... gets worse mileage... and costs more.

Just curious.... what drove you to the VW?

my mileage is 22/30.. what is the cobalt's? I never looked into that.. and I'm only paying $246/Month for 39 months.. only $20 more than what an LT came in at for four years. I thought it was a no-brainer for all of the added features in the Jetta.

I decided to stick with the VW/German car due to a strong reputation, and that my Dad's Touareg, sister's 03 Jetta, and the 325cic all have had no problems yet.

$246 a month?!? Wow.... killer deal on that man. The Cobalts are factory rated 25/32 MPG... better by just a tad. As far as reliability goes... I've never heard anyone complain about VW's breaking down.... heheh.

My wife had a Golf GLS with the 5 speed. That car had more problems with it than all 3 of my previous GM cars had COMBINED. We ud=sed to think that the car was the spawn of SATAN. I can tell you that it seemed everyother month something was wrong with the car.

Power windows, catylitic converter, speakers, battry cable(coroded off just after the coupling on the battery), rear wiper motor that deliverd the windshield fluid, colant sensor on the motor, parking brake all had to be either reparied by the dealership or had to be replaced. There was more things that wrong with the car just cant recall right now. POS car IMO, now yours might be different. But when the wife wanted a new car, she actually wanted to get another VW ( beattle Convertable) I said NO, talked her into getting the cobalt . So good luck with your new car.

Forgot to mention. When she had the catylitic converter replaced, the service rep showed her what it would have cost if it had not been under warranty--- he even printed out an est. so she could show me.
$ 1200.00 <--Yes that is correct, now that covered parts and labor to replace.

nice

The one thing that VW has over GM is you can get a diesel. as you can tell by the name i love diesel engines and the raw power and torque, i wish we could get a diesel in same american cars. i love my silverado with the duramax but a cobalt with a little turbo diesel would totally rip.

Nice car and good pics

How's the power and smoothness of the I-5 engine?? I've hears some bad reviews on it, but the specs seem decent, especially bring coupled to the 6-speed auto.

is that like silverstone grey? i have, had a 99 vr6 but hit a tree the other day. Never really had any problems with it and it was quick for a 4- door family sedan. i believe it has like 150 hp and 170 lb tq, could be wrong. personally i would have gotten the 2.0 turbo. def a nice car tho.

Sir, I most certainly agree. Diesel owns all. A Cobalt TD would be fu**in' sweet.
