finally...first few descent pictures

Well...a few days ago I washed her up and took a few pictures. We've been engulfed with cold weather and rain for awhile now, so one final photoshoot was needed before winter actually came. I only have one actual "photoshoot" style shot, but you'll get the idea.

2006 Cobalt SS n/a ...mod list in signature.

Here's the car about 3 minutes upon signing the papers. I was leaving the dealership.

Here's the inrerior. Yes, I know my rubber mats are backwards. lol. The Chevy is supposed to be on the door side. But if I do that, it'll get all bunched up on the foot rest. Universal c/f pedals and sub switch (not yet placed).

My trunk goes boom boom. Actually...not really. OEM powered Pioneer 10, and 2 Infinity 10's powered by an 800 watt Pioneer amp. Lightning Audio wiring. DIY install.

Side. woo.

The token rearish angle.

The sun is interesting here.

Hide and seek. Go hide!!!!

In my girlfriends drive way. Fall = amazing.

Well I HAD to get rid of my previous car ASAP. It kept breaking down. There weren't any close SS n/a's around like we wanted with a stick. but also, I don't really care for how GM small car manuals operate. I'm a valet, and to me, Cavaliers and stuff's clutches aren't nice. I liked the one on my Honda, but the GM ones never really caught on with me.

* shrugs *

If you floor it, the bitch redlines, so it's cool with me. haha!

If im correct, i beleive the ss n/a cobalt has the 5spd automatic. It might not be out yet, so i dunno. but it should run good if it does indeed have the 5spd auto

My guess is that it's powering the 2 tens in his trunk, could be wrong though.

I didn't look at the post for awhile. Sorry guys. haha!

Yes, the switch is for my Infinitys in the back. Instead of making a wire directly to the headunit, I just made a switch. The switch is for off and on. The volume is just worked in through the bass on the headunit. However, I might take the subs out. I'm trying to sell them if anyone's interested. Feel free to look at my for sale post located here: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/averagewhiteboys-sale-area-8086/

But no, for the 2.4 SS, you could get auto or manual. Based on the options, my mom said I couldn't buy it if it was a manual. Thus, I decided to bite the bullett and get the auto becasue I loved the car. The auto is pretty descent though.

Thanks for the swell comments guys!!

this might be a stupid question....but when you wired your subs, did you connect anything to the factory sub in the back? or did you wire everything directly to the head unit/battery?

i was just wondering if there is a shortcut here since the car already has a subwoofer installed. i hate running wires through the car....just a pain in the but.

I just did mine the easiest way possible. I'm sure there were better ways of doing it, but I didn't feel like paying all kinds of money to get all sorts of adapters and everything.

We wired the amp to the battery in the trunk. We wired the remote wire to a switch near the drivers seat (as pictured). Then we hooked the subs up into the rear 6x9's using one of those wiring kits, instead of ripping out my headunit. It works good enough for me...

Nice! I absolutely love the way the 2.4L rims look. Any performance modifications planned?

Yeah man, I love the rims too. That was one of the things that made me buy the car. I loved how they were so shiny and the SS s/c spec exhaust. It sounds good. It6's funny though. Now since it's almost winter and I can't wash the car really, the shinyness is getting slightly dull and they look like SS s/c rims like yours. haha! Sorta like your dark greyish ones, Mercury. I like those. When the SS s/c first came out last year, I had only ever seen the plain flat silver ones. I thought they were amazingly ugly. But as soon as they released the 17" high-polished ones and those 18" dark ones...I started to love them.

* thumbs up *

But for performance mods. I'm still undecided. I had a few things planned. A slight drop, Injen or Fujita intake, high flow cat, upper strut bars, etc. Basic modifications. But the car is still a lease car. So unless I paid an ungodly ammount of money afterwards to buy it, those mods would be lost that weren't universal. Subs you can use in any car, but not a Cobalt intake. lol. So I was contemplating either just continuing on modifying the Monte, or maybe even buy a cheap project car, and slowly work on it. I will probably still do at least an intake for the Cobalt either way. I had an AEM on my old Honda and LOVED it. That's probably a go. But I'll be sure to keep y'all updated!

BTW: An SS photo-shoot will go down this spring. My '06 Cobalt SS n/a, my '04 Monte Carlo SS n/a, and my grandpas '03 (?) SSR. Yeah, that's right. It's gonna be sick. I'll put up some pics of my Monte later on today too... I mean, it's still a Chevy...and still an SS.

* thumbs up *
