Just got back from overseas a couple weeks ago to a waiting recall letter which is a good thing as the power steering went out on my '08 SS Turbo today. I've had it about two years now and it just clicked over 39k miles. After some slower speed in town driving it went out, restarted the car and it lasted a few minutes before going out again, then later in the day after cooling off it lasted a short while before going out a couple more times. Too bad they didn't have the recall parts and final list of cars affected a few months ago when it went in for some other small repair/service as I'm going to have to make another appointment next week and take it in again.

Got mine fixed last week. Works pretty much the same. Doesn't feel alot different except there's a rubbing sound coming from under the dash if I turn the wheels at a stop, I assume itll go away. It was does in less than an hour. And they washed my car! <3 my chevy dealer!

I need to take my Cobalt in for an oil change and maintenance soon and would like to get everything done in one trip as I drive 50 miles each way to the dealer.

The execs at GM probably think that because they killed Saturn there is no point.
I got my second letter a couple months ago, but didn't mess with it until last week. Before then I was starting to hear a bit more of a growel when turning the wheel quickly, and days before it went in for the recall work it started to make a sort of rubbing sound too. The fresh motor feels a bit stronger so I'm rather happy... now if they could do something about the terrible turning radious...

I still don't have a second letter. What's this about a fuel system recall? Is that only the SS?

I don't think the fuel system is on the 09 SS/TC's. I only have the power steering. I know there's the oil leak issue with the earlier TC's...

Anything other than the power steering for the 09 or newer?

Okay - I don't have the fuel system issue (mine's 09), but I received a second letter on the steering recall - after I've already had the work done two months ago! Has anybody had this happen?

The way it sounded, it was almost like there was an issue with the replaced unit. If that's the case, I'm going to start feeling a little annoyed!

Got the PS fixed yesterday on our '09, plus they replaced the rotors due to high speed shuddering when the brakes were applied. All under warranty.
