07 stock sc owners...what are you boosting?
I posted this on cobalt.com also, but I really want some info.
I want to find out more about the whole 'inhibited boost' issue in the 07's. My 07 will only hit 9.3 psi tops....and thats punching it in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and having it floored til 6k. So its NOT me. A few guys on here said that the ECU doesn't allow full boost until 1400 miles...if any of you have some sort of proof of that, that would be great. I'm skeptical cause I've also heard a couple of 07 owners say they hit full boost the day they drove it home. I called a service tech for Chevy today and asked about it, and he said '8 psi sounded about right for those cars, and you have to take altitude and fuel quality into consideration'
So any of you 07 owners out there, I'd like to know how many miles are on your car, and what you are boosting.

It took a little bit for mine to hit the full 12.5 lbs. Almost 5k miles to be exact. Now with my tune though, I hit 12.5 almost insantly in 2nd and third.

So are you saying that you didn't hit 12.5 til after you tuned it? What were you hitting before you got to full boost?

You should be hitting right around 12-12.5psi @ full throttle, high rpm, in 2nd gear and up. If not the gauge is off. Also, when you turn on the ignition, without starting the engine, what is the reading on the gauge? It should be at 0. With the engine running at idle, the reading should be around 17-19inHg.

I'm like everybody else here I know my 05 hit atleast 12 pounds the day i drove it off the lot with 5 miles on it. Maybe there is a vaccum leak somewhere.
