09 Cobalt LS suggestions?

Hey everyone,

I know this is a Cobalt SS forum but I was wondering if I could get some input from you guys. Earlier this year when I purchased my 09 balt I was in need of a car bad and sort of rushed my decision. I love my Cobalt though, don't get me wrong. After lurking this forum I wish I had got an SS.

I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on what to do to my car. It's a white sedan but I'm thinking of smoking the tail lights, getting something like these: http://www.everythingcobalt.com/cata...e-p-13988.html but I'm not sure if they'll work on my 09. I've heard people can modify them to work but I'm a technical car noob. I'm also thinking of tinting the windows and adding these puppies http://www.wheelwarehouse.com/p-964-...amond-cut.aspx for cosmetic purposes.

My real trouble is mechanical mods. I'd like to add a cold air intake (K&N ??) and maybe a catback exhaust system (flowmaster?). I know since my car is an automatic (fail I know) I can't do much to it but I'd love to add a turbo down the line (Garrett?)

I was hoping you guys could give me some input and suggestions as to what to do to it. I'm not too sure where to start.

Thanks!

Start out with a intake and exhaust thats what I did and it kind of gives you more confidence on working on your car. And those headlights should work but im not positive. And I would get those rims they looks good!

Well i have the GMPP intake on my car it is louder higher in RPMS and if you have a exhaust it sounds really good! As far as exhaust I would go with magnaflow catback or GMPP. I personally have a flowmaster 60 series muffler and I no not many people recommend flowmaster but mine sounds deep and not raspy (fart can) at all and its not that loud but noticeable I have gotten many comments on it. And btw I would get the K&N intake I would have got it but it was on back order for the longest time.

Yeah the K&N is now finally off that back order, it was like 6 months order more!

fail for thinking that. autos are only less fun to drive. You trans can handle more tq and should provide you with more trouble-free miles than a stick. anything you can do to a stick, can be done to an auto

Really? I heard quite the opposite.

Well I guess for now my mind is set on getting that K&N and Magnaflow for starters.

Thanks for the tips guys, and would love to hear more!

theres tons of support for the LS/LT on here...i should know - ive got one too =D

I'd personally recommend Injen intake...Ive got it and I'm happy with it...but the big advantage is that you can use it short ram (like K&N) or as a cold air intake. hit the appropriate motor section and do some searching on the mods you want. its been beaten to death over on the L61's but even a new topic will always get some replies!

a white car with tinted windows, darkened tails and headlights, and minimal badges always gets my head turning...go for it!

Yes, this is why we recommended the Injen to the OP, as it is very versitile. Injen is #1 choice of many, and K&N being 2nd.

well mine were not very hard, just have to unplug a few wires and take out some bolts and the light comes right out. but the lights i got had to sauter because of the halo rings. if your worried about the year i dont think that matter because i bought the ones that were 05-08 and i have an 09 so they all may be the same but dont take my word for it check it out and see if it will fit

it comes with directions too so that should help

Ah. I know it's very early to be doing this but any info on superchargers or turbo kits that would work on my model? It won't be for some time that I get one but I'd like to just get an idea of what's possible.

Thanks!
