2 years of wear and tear...
I bought my Cobalt back in October and as of today I have 22,700 miles on the car (about 2500 miles per month). I drove it about 110 miles a day between Lancaster and Philadelphia for 3 months, then I drove from Philly to Raleigh, Savannah, and West Palm Beach. Now I drive to Wilmington everyday (about 70 miles a day).
I have to say that I couldn't be happier with the car. Good gas mileage. I get about 31.5 mpg with a mix of city and highway driving. In general there haven't been any problems...
The only question I have is how long can I go without changing the oil? I've been changing it every 5000 miles. I put Pennzoil in it for the first 3.5 oil changes then switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. Mobil 1 claims to be good for 10,000 miles or something like that, does anyone know if that's true or should I change it sooner?
I need the car to last as long as possible and it's going to continue putting on TONS of miles (at this rate it will be 30,000 miles per year).
Thanks

you are going to get 100 different answers to this question...
synthetic you should be able to do 5000mi between changes easy. Use your oil life meter as a referance, once it gets down to ~30% start thinking about changing the oil soon.
Hell some dealerships say wait until it says "change oil soon" to schedule your appointment & that doesnt show up until about 5% i think

I thought I was bad... I bought my car September 23, 2006 with 8 miles on the odometer. As it sits out in the parking lot, it has 21,654 miles on it... I go EVERYWHERE in this car and that's what sucks. By the time I go to trade it for either a Solstice, Turbo Cobalt (if it materializes) or a new Camaro, it won't be worth zip.
Still, i love my car.
