pully,

colour match headlights,
tint,
GAS

Not that all of those cost money ..just good things to do to the car that can all be done with the budget of 500

Give it to me!

Seriously though, are you trying to maintain a sleeper look? If so, definately go for the pulley!

You could always shave the door handles. Havent seen any cobalts with that done. I have no idea how much that might cost though.

If someone finds an ebrake handle that will work I will be all over that change. That plastic one is so cheap looking.

I'm right there with ya!!!!!! I DESPISE the stock one. I wish there was some way to install a boot too. Please - ANYBODY - if you've found a way to change out the e-brake handle let us know. There was a thread on this way back but I don't recall anyone actually swapping out the e-brake handle in their Cobalt.

Shaving the door handles isn't that expensive, but they don't make "kits", you just get a reciever and some solenoids, rest is custom. I shaved the doors on my 90 GMC pickup, only cost about $300 for everything, just lots of custom work such as where to put the solenoids and reciever, then it's just some simple body work to fill in the handle hole.

id wait to find out when GM is gonna list the stage 1-2 mods and their price

but a pulley is a good low dollar mod , if you can swap the pulley with out damaging anything

another good 1 would be to do a mechanical boost gauge , insetead of the stock electric 1
