Am i doing something wrong?
well, i own a 2.2L 5speed sedan and its my first new car and also my first standard. I learned how to drive stick on this car as well. Not im approaching 40K miles and..well, my stock clutch still bits like its new and my brakes are just as good as they were new. I dunno i jsut figured i'd wear the clutch out faster then hell. i even race her at the track. hmm any input here..or am i a gift`d and i didnt even know it on ow to drive a 5speed roffle... im jsut confused here

40K, thats alot of driving; I'm at 27K right now. I learned on mine too...I would expect the clutch to hold up reasonably well because we are putting down much less than it is rated for. I think it is actually rated for less tq than the automatics though...

My 2.2L Cav that I have had the original clutch in it and still worked great at 109K before I rolled it.
I almost have 2K on mine already and I've only had it for 3 weeks tomorrow.

Clutches are built better now than back in the day. You actually sound kind of disappointed that it didn't blow.LOL. Just lucky I guess. I taught myself how to drive a stick in a 97 Wrangler. That clutch was a champ.

it will bite hard for awhile man! the 2.2's dont make enough power to put pressure on the clutch so you can race it all day long and you will probably still have no problems! My clutch on my eclipse was stock and lasted up to 132000 miles!! good thing i got rid of that bucket cause 2 weeks after i sold it the guy called me and said the clutch went out and there was oil leaking out of the engine!! o well lol
