anyone heard of this?

go to www.sipers.com and tell me if this is a good idea. i dont have snow down here in houston, but would it still give me better traction? i asked a guy at discount tire co. how much it is and he said $10 a tire. just curios on everyones opinion.

Yeah it works, But on some tires, Not all. Mainly Monster trucks.

Any tire dealer can do this but it's not worth it unless you bought some cheap o tires. It's meant for better wet traction more then anything else.

With P-Zero's already on the SS/SC how much diffrence could it make. These are already performance tires made to grip surfaces.

Showed that to one of our tire experts here. He thinks it looks like a worthwhile thing to have done, but I wouldn't do it to an expensive tire like the stockers on the ss/sc. (in MY opinion)

No they can't. Need the specialized machine for it. We average $200,000/day in wheel/tire sales and don't do it.

I used to work for Discount Tire in Arizona, and we did siping. From my experiences, Siping works on normal tires fairly well as far as accelerating(better grip) and braking go, but on High end tires like our Pirellis, it won't do anything. In fact, you run the risk of actually doing more harm than good to them.
