the steel unions killed pittsburgh in the 80's the wanted an obscene 13weeks paid vacation a year and were making like 20+/hr back then. the unions can be good but look at all the industry that america lost after they unionized.

I'm Not Trading mine for 1 No, I'm buying 1 yes. But not till 2010 when the Convertibles come out! I going to wait for the SS model!

Well if everything goes well at work in a year or so I will be a General Manager with a company car. Hopefully I will be at a Chevy store instead of having to drive a POS Ford.

Then I can get a Silverado from them and with the $$ they pay me have a Camaro or Vette for nice days.

if i have my cobalt paid off by then...maybe. probably just the V6 though.

V6 will hopefully be alot cheaper. i dont need that much power. but my cobalt is my first small car and 4 cylinder. and i LOVE the handling and fuel economy. so hopefully the V6 camaro is pretty decent on gas.

the only other thing holding me back is the fact that they are gonna be hard to come by. and i wont get **** for my cobalt in 09 lol.

your right. That would be speculating and thats just wrong!!!!!

The convertible appeals to me the most byt you ca't have a daily driver vert up here. Just a nice 330hp/5.3/6 speed auto would do the trick.

Mustang every year but 2 has completely demolished the Camaro in sales. It will not be any different in the upcoming years.

And the mustang is helping out fOrD's 120 Billion dollar loss how? I'll be glad when they give up and go down the tubes!

As for me, i will wait till 09 to get a convertible Camaro SS/ZL1 (top of the line). That is one sweet car!

1. Ford won't go under, and that would be bad for American competition (because who really wants to show off a Camaro to an import, that's like showing your running skills to a wheelchair kid)

2. Mustang has sold more because its cheaper than camaro. That's why it was the me-too car since the 80s, until the f-bodies died.

I will be in 4 years unless I can get a really REALLY REALLY good deal on a used c6 z06 or c5 z06. Most likely I will be purchasing a used c5 z06 though with low miles.

Good luck on trying to get a new Camaro in the first year of production - it's going to be a feeding frenzy on that car! Dealers are going to gouge would be owners and get away with it. Just look at what happened with the Shelby GT500.

1 it dosnt look good at all
2 its going to be heavy
3 the INS on it is going to 2x what I pay for my balt
4 20s are stupid to come stock on anything Make the friking wheel wells smaller and put 18s on it
5 its going to be 10k more then a balt
6 its going to have problems geting 400hp to the ground big time. IRS is not known for its launch prowes.
7 did I say its ugly yet?
8 it will be 2-3 years befor you can get a V8 car for close to sticker ( Took the stang 1.5-2 years and GM dealers are vary greedy)
9 Its going to be a straight line car. ( that has problems off the line) So if your in to the curves give it up.
10 Its going to have GMs now famase (You raced it now go away) warranty.

Later
You sir, deserve a big flaming.

1) Pure opinion. I, along with many others, think it looks great.
2) Duh. That's why it's going to come with a bigger motor. It wouldn't be an American muscle car if it wasn't heavy with a huge motor.
3) Cause your Balt is an economy compact with half the horsepower of this real sports car. Duh.
4) It has huge wheels on it (22's and 21's iirc) cause it's a concept car. The production version will have smaller wheels. That's already been said in the press about the car.
5) See number 3.
6) Boo hoo. Nothing a little modding can't fix.
7) See number 1. Is that the best you could come up with?
8) Pay to play junior.
9) Let me guess... anything RWD that puts down power can't handle curves in your eyes? You better stick to the Balt and let the real men drive the real car.
10) Real men don't need warranties. And how is that any different than any other car warranty? It's common sense. Again... pay to play.

Oh, and I will have a new Camaro. Probably in addition to the Cobalt.

Good points, a little mean spirited but good thoughts overall

Here are a few points in addition to yours

1) The Camaro looks 10X better in person than it does on paper. (I saw it in person and personally shook Scott Settlemire's hand.)

2) The Camaro will weigh less than the current GTO, while having more horsepower in a more efficient/modern engine and a state of the art suspension. This car will be faster stock than 99% of the cobalts on this forum ever will be.

3) There will be two V6 models to choose from (according to Wagner), with the top V6model performing on par with the LT1 f bodies. There is only rumored to be 1 V8 out at launch. The supercharged V8 is only a whisper of a rumor (but a hottly aniticipated whisper at that)

4) The rims may dip into the 20s on higher trim models, but expect them to be ultra lightweight forged alloy that probably will weigh about the same as the current monte carlo/Impalla SS 18's.

I will have one by God, and unless i win the lottery by then, the balt will probably have to be traded in on it.

The camaro is sweet and all

But I can't wait for the new Pontiac G8 Its based off the Holden Commodore

Nothing says bad ass grocery getter and family hauler like a car with a 6.0 V8.

Nothing says "get a camaro" like buying a pontiac with a Camaro engine but costs 5 grand more

Remember, pontiac will be getting streamlined in the next few years to become more of a BMW competitor. The quality/weight/luxury of the product will increase significantly, and of course so will the price.

Quick Reply: Anyone trading in thier cobalt for the 2009 camaro?
