Anyone trading in thier cobalt for the 2009 camaro?

Remember 14's are still quick for a factory budget car. And 13's are only a pulley, injectors, and torque dampener away.

Your absolutely right that cobalts cant brake into 13s stock, but there 20K sport compacts! There not thirty thousand dollar AWD 300hp monsters like an STI. Getting smaller diameter drag radials really help but its the wheel hop that is the main hindrance of the cobalt.

SRT4= dead, so it cant be considered a competitor anymore
GTI= NOT getting into the 13's on stock tune, even with driver mod
EVO= Not considered a competitor (10 grand price difference)
STI= not considered a competitor (12 grand price difference)
MS3= I have yet to see one get into the 13's stock, but i'm not saying it isn't possible, the car is still brand new. Magazine racing (which i hate) puts it dead even with SS/SC in the low 14's.
WRX= Probably can get into 13's stock with great driver but this seems to be the only race that it outperforms the ss/sc in. I've heard many story of WRX guys getting ate up past 100mph.
The point i'm trying to make is, that you seem to beleive that a 13 second quartermile is the standard for a stock 20K sport compact. While in fact its not, most of the cobalts competition, Civic SI, GTI, Eclipse, tC, tiburon, etc range from high 14's to high 15's!

I forgot about the VeeDub.
Even the New SRT-4 will be in the 13s.
MS3=Search around A LOT have ran 13s.
WRX=Ditto... what track does races from 100+?
From a roll(not a real race) is the only way Cobalts beat a lot of cars.
EVO RSs MSRP for like 26-27k
I got my STI brand new for 27k.
Every car you listed besides the GTI (can't believe I forgot that) is N/A. So not what I call a direct competitor to the SS/SC
The point I was making is that the Cobalt should be quicker than it is and it is put to shame by every FI 4cyl besides the GTI and MINI. Which are more of its competitors. The SS/NA is competition for the Civic SIs and such. Unless you think the SS/NA is a competitor of the SS/SCs.

I honestly believe that with some wheel hop mods, the Cobalt is easily capable of 13's with no performance mods at all. There has been times posted from people running 14.1 with the Cobalt being bone stock. Keeping in mind that we have to be easy out of first gear because of the hopping issue.

I hate to be fanboy, but i highly disagree. The Cobalt is considered by many to be one of the best bang for the buck purchases currently available. And i don't consider 1/10 to 2/10 of a second meaning "put to shame."
I will accept criticism, but that sounds like just pure malice for the model.

nope, i'll never get rid of my Cobalt. but i'm trying to decide between dumping money into my 4-door 1970 Buick Skylark or getting a small SUV (caliber, liberty) as far as kid hauler/grocery getter.

I like the SS/SC and think it is very good bang for buck, but the best, not really. No offense, but how long has the car been out??? And no 11 second time slips.

I'm not. Too much money for me. Considering that last years car tag on my Cobalt LS was $460. Then I can only guess how bad the insurance companies will **** people over this car.
Mine might be paid off by then. Maybe I'll be able to afford performance parts then.
