Best Intake for S/C whine???
Hey guys/gals, Im new to the Cobalt SS but am considering buying a 2006 S/C one quite soon(I love these cars). One thing i wanted to know though is what aftermarket intake is best to maximize that supercharger whine?!! I've heard Injen is good.... Thanks in advance!

Injen is the worst intake you can put on a Ss sc...
If all you care about is sound, the one zzp sells is ok but 200$ for such a minimal gain isn't worth it imo. On my set-up I'm on a modified stock box and my blower screams, but then again I'm also on a 2.9 pulley as well.

Either remove the plastic cover that go's over the air filter or drill big holes in the cover. Or you could buy a intake tube off of eBay for like $50 then buy a kind filter for $40, no to need to spend more than you have to on a intake

Can't say for the S/C ... but I had a HAHN and K & N on my T/C and the K&N is waaayyy louder, almost mistake it for a BOV..
My bro has some Ebay whatever pipe on his S/C and it's not very loud

I have a K&N and can tell when the supercharger is working pretty easy even running the RPM up without boosting get some decent volume. I dunno if it's worth the $200+ when the stock air box mod competes and can just order the K&N filter.

The best way to increase noise is pulley down and tune, that way you get the power with the noise lol. But that's quite a bit more expensive.
Some people plug the silencer holes on the supercharger.... But that is risky because of the plugs fail they can cause some damage.

Stock intake with modded box will give you plenty of whine and performance to match. I can send you photos on how to properly mod the box. You don't just put holes anywhere in it.
If all you care about is whine and not performance, any shiny metal intake will increase the noise. I've tested many (more than most on this site), and they all sound pretty much the same.
The stock intake will support 350whp all day. If you are pushing more than that, or plan to, look into what OTTP offers.
