Whatever you would like, your the one who is going to be driving it.

Assuming you want a Cobalt since your asking on a Cobalt forum-- you may choose from a 2.0 SC, 2.2, or 2.4 Coupe or Sedan. Sunroof? Heated Seats? On-Star? Side air bags? Power windows? Etc.

Decisions, decisions.

Build your ride... Ok, Bugatti Veyron, Throw 7 turbos on it, get a 250 shot of nitrous, and you should be pushing about 10,000 hp +

Buy whatever you want. Here's my contribution:

The "Aurora" was created to be the ultimate safety vehicle back in '57 I think. The car had seatbelts, roll cage, side impact bars, collapsible steering column, foam filled bumpers and padded instrument panel. It sounds perfect for a guy like you. Safe bet. Guaranteed to keep you a virgin as long as you drive this car.

Look to the Cobalt Cup Car. You won't get much lighter or faster than that right now.

CF door panels
CF hood
CF trunk
CF roof
CF fenders
CF spoiler

Stage 2
Corsa exhaust

Before you get hosed again, allow me to point out that you didn't specify WHICH Cobalt you're working on. Three different platforms to choose from, all bearing the Cobalt name.

Best I can do for ya is to tell you what's going on my 06 SS/SC:

torque braces (ordered)
stage3 clutch (ordered)
lightened flywheel (ordered)
short shifter (ordered)
exhaust from the header out (saving up)
GM stage 2 on the super (all dressed up with no place to go....)
17" rims with BFG gForce T/A KDW 2 rubber (best damn tires on the market if you ask me- saving up)
upgraded rotors (a must have if you increase the power- saving up)

possibly water/alky injection down the road. Also down the road a good set of cams.

But my goals are modest. I just want a streetable 300 hp car. If you want to go all out, ***** to the wall you could do a full on P&P with the head and block, polish the blower, forged pistons, m92 or Whipple swap, titanium valve springs, hack the PCM and set rev limit to something godawful, aggressive cam grind, larger valves, bore and stroke, NO2. strip interior to bare metal, and then start shaving the metal.......Hell, I could go on this way for hours.

What it comes down to is your goals for the car. If you want a 1/4 mile queen, you can do it- but you'll do better at that with something used that you can strip down and build up yourself. If you want to autox, you're almost there already- but the things you need to modify are going to be different based on what class of autox you plan on competing in. "bad ass" is a little vague, as we all have our own ideas of what constitutes a "bad ass" car.

We can't do this for you man- the best advice I have is to learn about cars in general, understand what different mods are for and what result you desire, and then come back and ask again when you have some kind of idea what you're going for.

Good luck, and have fun!

tell me what your long term goals are. if you have a small budget bt would still like to build the car with maybe a turbo kit and some other things get the 2.2 engine, if you have some extra money and your not much into superchargers then get the 2.4 and turbo it for some nice power, if you like superchargers and are not looking to make insane hp numbers then get the 2.0
