Cams, valvesprings & timing

Quick questions guys. Im doing my head build any day now. I never done any builds my self before but im getting help from a friend who knows and is always doing complete builds on hondas, block and heads. He even installs turbo on them. is there anything different on our cars that he might not know about? Something the he can mess up on? On a side note. I do have the ecotec build book on hand. I been doing lots of reading. Thanks

My main concern is to get the stage 2 cams and timining correct. Including valve springs.

From my experience, ecotec heads look way more simple and easy than honda heads.

Thanks. Would it be more difficult if I tear it down and let him put it bak together or it does not matter?

cam gears only go on one way and the cams timing will only line up when they are in the starting position its actually fairly hard to **** it up

Yeah, If he follows the build book for ecotec race engines, theres no way to mess anything up unless he lacks a torque wrench or just can't follow instructions.

with the colored links and timing marks on the gears, its a cake walk. just make sure the colored links face away from the engine.

Yeah. The odd colored link must be on the timing mark on the intake cam. On the intake cam timing mark and crank, the two same colored links are used.
