Can I make the gas pedal a tad stiffer?
I have an '09 SS and the gas pedal is super soft. Every time I hit a bump, my foot bounces on the pedal and the car blips forward. While going down a bumpy road, it can be quite annoying lol. Is there any way to stiffen the pedal without affecting the Fly-By-Wire?

They're a little pricey, but as I said it includes not just the covers but the whole throttle pedal assy. Also. Be prepared for some skinned knuckles and loud swearing. You should call Tom at CED to order so you get the right set. Auto or manual.
I've got them in my sedan and love them bith for their looks and feel. Good luck.

I order the "performance" pedals and the gas is not stiffer and it is about 1" closer to the floor so heel toe is out of the question even with size 12 feet. waste of $ imo. Went back to stock (09 ss)

He is talking about the gas pedal not the brakes lol. I don't know of any stiffer setups but if you can find a wrecker and get a spare accelerator pedal assembly you may be able to melt the plastic rivets that hold the unit together and add a stiffer spring. I'm considering this and have a spare assembly just haven't had time to take it apart and look into things closer.

Hmm i DID break my right ankle a couple years back... So maybe I can use some ankle exercise lol. But seriously, out of all the cars I've ever driven, this is the first time I've experienced this. I rest my foot against the pedal and it goes like half-way down. It's almost rediculously too soft. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has a mod or something. I'll have to crawl underneath and peek around up there tomorrow.

All GM stuff, and a lot of DBW cars in general have very soft springs on the gas pedal. You aren't moving any hardware (throttle cables, butterflys, anything), so there's no reason for a stiff return.
Worst case, drill a small hole in the pedal arm (the lower the better, but make sure it can't get in the way of your foot under any circumstance), and then attach a regular throttle return spring from there to somewhere under the dash. They sell them in packs at any auto parts store, comes in different lengths and strengths, so you can figure out what you like.
Keep in mind though, it will take more effort all the time to hold the gas down, so what seems like a good idea to keep 1st gear smoother, may get irritating all the rest of the time you are driving.

I fixed it. It took about 30 seconds. I used a carb spring and attached it from a hole above to the armature itself. No drilling required. To be specific, the spring is from a late 60's 327cid with a 4bbl. It's not a very strong spring at all; just enough to add that little extra pressure. I took it for a spin and no more throttle blips over speed bumps or anything. It's great!

Hmm, I think you just need to work on your heel-toe technique. I wear a size 12 shoe and have the GM aluminum pedals, and have no issue heel-toeing. I can even do it in my workboots...

theres is a company that makes a tuneable box for the new ss's ,, i forget the site but it was on "trucks" or one of those shows on spike its about 35o and you can make the car respodn quicker to throttle input, and "tune" it so the petal is stiffer,,
S#1T! i cant remember the name of the site or id post it
