Car suspension mods thoughts..I need help?!
Hi everyone...
It has been a looong time since I have been up here ! Well, I am interested in putting the last mods on my car...suspension mods. I have about 130,XXX miles on my 'balt.
I want a 2-3 inch drop and MSR, Rial Nogaro or SS wheels. I don't want to have to roll my fenders and I don't wanna scrape much .
Currently, I have SS springs (I bought from a member, a while back), 15 inch OEM wheels and factory suspension...I have an LS base model. I was thinking of getting 17in rims + ksport springs...I want a stance look with a 2-3inch drop. I can't afford coilovers, at the moment .
Questions
1 - What wheels should I get? offset?
2- What should my budget be for parts? (I was told ~$2000)
3 - Affordable place to get labor in DC/MD/VA/NC? I live in Hyattsville, MD
Answer any part of the question you would like...serious help/experienced help only please .
PS - I'm a newbie to the stance world...I mostly know about electronics..

So SS wheels are out, pick up a nice set of wheels, I recommend 18x8 but ride quality will suffer with a lower side wall, since it seems you want more low than handling I'm going to recommend SSC springs they are going to be stiffer not the best for handling but also not the worst and quite a bit lower. Make sure you pick up FE5 shocks and struts or the stock ones will be completely gone, all in all I'd estimate this as being $1500 with the wheels and tires being $1000.

I went with the FE5 shocks and struts for my G5 GT and I don't regret it at all. I ordered them from rockauto and got a great deal even without the discount code they were a good price. I did my rotors and brakes as well...

I honestly don't know what offset to look for but you've got it easier without Brembos, Tire Rack is really good with only listing wheels that will fit, so even if you don't buy from them you can still see a large portion what is out there.
Crate Engine Depot is a good place to buy they struts, although a little more expensive than on say RockAuto they are a supporting vendor and Tom is a great guy and will even call you if there's anything up with your order.

Good idea! I have decided to buy springs, for now...I'm probably going to sell my car in a couple of years anyway.
