funny thing is at lordstown when they had the car there the boost gauge was an autometer gauge like the srt-4, now it is a no name?

And the LSD and Recaro's rock!

Hopefully it will be for next year, or mid 05. Or at least an add-on package with availability of extra power that won't void warranty.

This is very interesting, I imagine these will be options that don't void the warranty, wonder how much will the LSD be, probably around 500ish?

i wasnt given those options when i ordered mine... but i probably dont have the cash to upgrade it anyway...i just took advantage of their promotional sunroof and satellite radio deal...but if it didn't exist i would rather see a cobalt bone stock with the 2.0 sc in it then you wouldnt mind beating on it and it would be cheaper...like the old z-28s...clothe seats and manual windows....ss was for creepy old men...i think chevy eventually needs to put out a z series cobalt without all the whistles and bells...just the power

Aftermarket Quaife / Torsen LSDs are typically closer to $1000 for FWD applications.

ya as an aside, pricing of the SRT-4 went up 1G from 03-04, the addition of the Quaife LSD

I would figure $1200 or so for the competition pkg...rough estimate

ya but that is a dealer price, you have to figure a couple things, the mfg gets the components way cheaper than we can and the stock components that are not used allow a credit toward the upgraded components. That;s why x option costs $100 when the actual component is $500

The only "perfomance" part I see there is the LSD.

As a Redline owner, I was hoping for a PCM reflash and a smaller pulley.

I'm all for Cobalt engine upgrades cuz what's good for the Co is good for the RL!

yeah, but throwing in an LSD and the seats will put the package up in the 2000+ range, hopefully i'm wrong, but we'll see

yeah it will most likely be in the 2000 dollar range for those upgrades, but hey you get a car w/ comfortable ass seats and possibly if gm tunes it right, cuz from my understand 05 redline got different ecu tuning that removes 2nd gear lag, so if that helps good drivers w/ lsd can achieve consistant low mid 14's and thats atleast wrx territory.

i'd take that with a grain of salt. i've yet to see any official information regarding the '05s getting any different ecu tuning. i read a post on saturnfans.com about it, but they guy claims it makes the shift to second end up with rpms around 3500-4000, which is physically impossible, the gearing is a purely mechanical function, no matter how much tuning you do, the rpms are going to be the same. different tuning may help, but horsepower numbers have stayed the same.

probably increased revlimter, that will enable the car tokeep rpms above 3500-4000 during shifts.

but wait a little while from my understanding from the sema show they are working on stage packages, and the lsd w/ reccarros arent part of stage packages, from my understanding. the stage 1 ecu package will give the lsj around the same hp as the cobalt ss sedan 230-240hp and most likely since the car is underated allready the 230-240hp will most likely be at the wheels. and also from sema the 273 cobalt, those numbers are easily achievable with ecu tuning and minor mods. the ecu tuning is supposed to include increased revlimiter to around 7k.
