se-r spec v's are not that slow, it'll hold its own to your ss/sc, trust me my best friend has one...it's funny that this car keeps popping up as questionable on this site...seriously, do a search and you'll find quite a few threads about the spec v...it is a comendable car for a n/a...

I understand what you're asking and yes while some cars have their peak horsepower at 3500rpm or so that doesn't necessarily mean that is the proper shift point and to determine that you will need to study dyno graphs on your particular car. You want to be making the most power as consistently and as often as possible so while a car may peak at 3500rpm at say 250hp, it could hold at around 240 or 245 for the next 2500rpm indicating it would probably be better off staying in gear rather than risk not taking advantage of all that power simply to experience peak horsepower quicker.

As for the SS Supercharged, keep going to redline.

And as far as the Spec-V goes, they are pretty commendable N/A cars but they will need mods to hang with the SS/SC especially if its modded.

if you can break an axle with stock tires and stock hp ill give u a cookie and a slap to the face

i find it highly unlikely that the axles that came in the car are rated to 214 whp and no more

what kind of n/a spec v are you racing? it is a commendable car for an n/a nobody is saying that it isnt . but like its been said unless its been modded its not going to hang with even a stock ss/s. if your buddies car is stock and your ss/sc is stock and hes hanging with you you are doing something very wrong. even a slightly modded spev would have problems. i test drove both before buying the ss/sc. so i am going to have to dissagree with you on this one

My buddys Spec-V is turboed, and from a stop I beat him, if we go rolling, he holds maybe 1/2 a car on me. Its really quick, but they have super-short gears. 6 speed, redline in 6th is 145mph. Im in 3rd, he shifts to 4th, 5th and 6th before I hit 4th.

yeah see thats what i mean, its turbo charged and still has a hard time with you. he has to go from a roll because obviously turbos need the rpms. we dont. but spec v's dont come with turbos. they have to be added. so your buddies car is quick, but its not the typical spec v is it? so what i said to the other guys still applies.

you also have to specify what model year you're talking about, the new spec-vs don't really compare to the older models...whatever, flame all you want but i know there's others on here who know how well they get moving...i agree that it won't BEAT us, but it will stick with you somewhat, you'll pull, but you don't blow them away like i thought id be able to...
