It's a Sentra. You can beat it.

And if you can't, never speak of this again.

like i said the cars are rated at 176 right? they may be under rated but i doubt it. your cars underrated hp stock is 205 and its more like 230 reasonably. i am not a genious but that right there is close to a 60 hp difference, stock. so like i said if you have issues with a stock spec v then you are doing something wrong. no one is "flaming" you at all. i am simply stating even with a turbo he can not beat you without starting from a roll. in my opinion its not racing unless your stopped when you start. racing from a roll makes it alot easier for cars with less power. so your comparing your buddies car to yours when your pretty much giving him a handicap. your car has a supercharger much better for racing from a dead stop ( more low end power) he has a turbo ( better for higher rpms) racing him from a roll takes away what your car is good at. so you should stop comparing cars by doing some tokyo drift ****. race him for a 1/4 mile from a stop and unless you **** up you will beat him every time ( or should atleast)

I would think it would be close to a ss n/a. An ss s/c should walk one.

i agree i'm not saying i didn't beat him, i'm not saying i CAN'T beat him, i'm not saying i have trouble beating him...all i said was it was much quicker than i ever expected from a n/a 4 banger...another thing is a lot of people just assume if it says SE-R that it is a Spec-V as well, not always the case, the spec-v is around the same performance as a 2.4 n/a...i was just saying that when i first ran with his car just messin around i was surprised that he stayed as close as he did....

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the Sentra GXE's are rated at? I *think* they have a 1.8 in them... I'm pretty confident that my 2.2 could give one a whoopin' but I'm curious about the numbers...

The Spec V is rated at 175 hp, puts down about 145-155 whp stock. The SS/SC is much faster from the factory.

They are rated at 126 hp. most are automatic and very slow.

Hmm, I thought as much. The one I'm after is a 5-speed, but I don't think that's going to help much with only 126 HP. Besides which, I don't think it has the "driver mod".

wow they deff aren't rated at 126, still amazes me at how some people can spew such nonsense without doing research...i was looking around on line today and i found www.google.com seems kinda interesting

theres se-rs and spec-v the se-r non spec has no lsd and is mostly auto

now you said spec r this means that it has factory nismo boltons cams, exhaust, intake maybe
if it has all that it should be around 220 to the crank so yes you have more hp but these cars have amazing engines its basically a 4cylinder vq35de

not doing research and then talking like you did ftl

Ummm... I'm not sure why you quoted me on that one, but for starters I was asking about the base-model GXE and NOT the SE-R or Spec V. Sorority Demon answered my question in regards to this and I used this info.

EDIT: I googled the GXE and here is what I came up with: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...san-sentra.htm

If you read the first paragraph, it says: "XE and uplevel GXE versions used a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine that made 126 horsepower".

Not reading the question at hand and then acting like you did FTL.
