Cobalt SS: Are you sick of waiting?

But REALLY, it seems like the American manufacturers (specifically GM) are like [fill in the pathetic box] hopelessly behind and scrambling to catch up…but it’s too late. They’ve been asleep at the SUV wheel for over a decade while Toyota, Honda etc. have refined their cars to a razor edge and at the same time invaded the truck/suv market --- undermining the last refuge for the domestics.
So what’s the answer? Well of course some are going “backward” vis-à-vis “retro” but that’s a joke. Last night on the way home I saw one of the new Mustangs --- god-awful ugly, followed by a Dodge Magnum “station wagon” looking thing…WTF???
Anyway, it just seems GM should put out a press release (or similar) and clear up the entire question of Cobalt production/deliveries, but that seems way too obvious and simple!

GM isn't just the largest car companies but also one of the most lucrative businesses across the world.
Please, honda and toyota gain some quick ground in America and people assume GM has lost touch. Go on GM's website and look at all their companies across Europe and the rest of the world, they sell well everywhere. Not to mention all of the other industries they operate in; for example: GMAC, their banking division that handles car financing and loans makes a whole hell of a lot of their annual profits.
<--Can't wait till Mitsubishi goes bankrupt and DCX buys out the rest of the shares they don't own.

The #1 selling car in the world is the Toyota Corolla (in all its forms). It is and has been for years because it is sold in almost every market Toyota exists in.

Good point MikeSS...and I hope Toyota continues to grow...that way it will give all of the American companies a shot in the arm to not sit with their thumbs up their asses while European and Japanese automakers destroy their comfortable spots at the top.
Look at DC, they were the lowest of the American car companies in the 90's and after Toyota surpassed them in auto sales they have since taken advantage of their alliance with Mercedes in terms of engineering and turned their styling into distinctive marketable attractive automobiles. They still aren't anywhere near number one but with cars like the 300C and Dodge variations, sales have increased dramatically and brought a renewed sense of prestige to the brand.
Maybe Bob Lutz is starting to get the picture by looking at Euro variations of GM's cars...bring over more Holdens (so far the GTO is here and word is the Holden Commadore SS will soon follow ), Vauxhauls and Opels, and people will be excited again. Look at the Saturn Sky Roadster...it's a direct take off of the Vauxhaul VXR Speedster, it's beautiful and breaks new ground for the Saturn brand.
Competition means one thing for us car buyers/enthusiasts: better cars.

Im SO sick of people starting useless threads with
1)a transcript of the email they sent GM
2) I got a VIN number!!! (WOW, LUCKY)
3) Estimated delivery date (cause if they give you an answer maybe youll quit buggin them)
Seriously its making this site a shitty place to visit - just wait till the ****** arrives, test drive it, then buy it if you want.

thats not necessarily true.. if you wait too long and get too hyped up, you may be dissapointed in the car and not feel it was worth the wait
Im going to the autoshow here on mar 9-13 and take a look at it.
Then i'll decide if im going to wait or not

Most things worthwhile in life are worth the wait:
After all, You waited for your graduation, Your mate, the snow to melt, your 401K to mature, that seedling to become a tree, those Chia pets, your hair to grow back after a bad haircut, your team winning the pennant or Super Bowl...
I am seeing production has SOARED and many of you who have emailed me with your order number - YOUR CARS HAVE BEEN BUILT AND THEY'RE GOING OUT REALLY SOON!

For all my bitching remarks, I'm still going to wait this one out. I have to at least test drive one to know for sure. From all the pictures floating around...I just can't believe how beautiful the car is, inside and out, for GM. That in itself makes me want it. Then there's the whole engine aspect. The potential and such. All for 21k or so. I'd be a fool not to wait. Even if I get frustrated at times with all the contradicting information...and the seemingly endless delays...I (we) have to realize, GM didn't go through the entire process of designing, testing and showing a car without the intent to sell it. That's beyond pointless.
So, with that said...I'm looking at the delays and such as a GOOD thing now. Why? Because if GM is making sure to get this one right, in all regards...I can have more confidence in the car when it does finally come out. I'll know it wasn't simply launched prematurely with the hopes of success.
