ok ok ok this is getting funny! A FWD "performance car" thats "rare"
Sorry man but the Cobalt NO MATTER the trim level will NEVER be on par with say a 1969 Copo or Yenko Camaro or Chevelle.

Will Be Cool To Find Out How Many 69 Camaros Was Made Back In 69....
THIS IS GETTING GOOD AND BETTER !!
Official Chevrolet production records show a total of 220,906 Camaros built in 1967; 235,147 Camaros built in 1968; and 243,085 Camaros built in the last year of the first generation, 1969. Note that the 1969 model year was extended to December 1969, 5 months longer than normal, due to production delays with the redesigned 1970 Camaro.
AAAH OK SO 14,826 SS SC VS 699,138 COLLECTORS DREAM CAMAROS
I THINK WE GOT A GOOD CHANCE!!!!

Now, how bout the 07 SS/SC's?? To narrow that down even further, an 07 SS/SC WITH Recaros included in the G85 package...That's what I'm tryin to sell. That could be a fairly rare car right there. lol

guys, down the road when it comes time to get a "cool old car" people are giong to be looking at things like the z06, evo, viper, etc. not a damn cobalt.
don't mean to be a dick, but some people have their heads way up in the clouds when it comes to their car.

I voted NO .... but, the SC's just might have some value in a decade or so
In reality there is over production or shall we say a surplus of automobiles in general. In the big picture very few cars hold their value... ever see what performance cars from 1999 are worth.... next to nothing!
The other problem is that technology makes performance cheaper and cheaper.... ever thought you would have to worry about V6 Camry sedans doing 0-60 in the 6 sec range and trapping 14.5 @ 99 mph STOCK!
(figures from Road & Track).
If you factor in population versus cars produced.... the SC is kinda RARE for 14,800 for 2005-06 for 50 states = 296 cars per state..... thats not alot.... there are probably more than a couple of thousand Honda Accords in any major city (NYC, Chicago, LA, Atlanta, ect...).
OK, that's my 2 cents for now.... don't give up hope, we do have a small chance.... some cars don't even get that

From my zip code your KBB value is about 21000. My '06 with 3000 miles came out at
20315 this is private party value NOT retail value.Retail value is what you would expect to pay at a stealership
You have your opinion.Working at a dealership is irrelevant.Cars ,along with everything else are worth what ever the traffic will bare.If a 100,000 Supercharged Coupes are produced, and 99,500 are wadded up in a ball in the ditch by idiots, and 10,000 people want one of the remaining 500..........it's called supply and demand.

If you want to get an idea of how a compact F/I vehicle will be "collectible" in 20 years, look into some of the earlier attempts into forced induction in the GM line (I'm not talking about the GN which is a fantastic car) The sunbird turbo, and it's other cousins didn't fare well in sales *unlike the current Cobalt which isn't doing too bad* what makes a car collectible is production numbers, rarity of options packages built which makes specific packages even more desirable, performance on the track, racing series, "civilian versions vs. full on race versions that were actually raced professionally and built by the manufacturer, and how it can influence a generation. Owners of GM, Dodge, Ford, and practically everyone other manufacturer will have a soft spot for "a" particular car(s). Those people, dependent on the outcome of their later adulthood may seek a 20-30 year old good condition Cobalt SS/SC and pay ridiculous money for it. Is it likely? Probably not.
Look at what the current 25-45 year old cars are fetching these days.
Yenko Camaro
SS Camaro
Impalas
Chargers
Challengers
Cudas
Mustangs
You name it. All the "Big Buck" ones have super rare engine and transmission combinations, very limited production (usually less than 600 total) rare colors, etc.
When you compare the build numbers on the Cobalt, well..... the result becomes clear.
Anything can be collectible, nothing is collectible if there is no one willing to buy it, or simply collect it.
I am 99.99% certain that the Cobalt will never reach the status of say a Yenko Camaro
or a Hemi Cuda.

I don’t think I can agree with this logic, sure cobalt’s are a dime dozen, but honestly how many people have the ss /sc? Out of the whole batch of cobalt’s there are very few ss/sc's and there area even lese with the LDS. Then you have to take into fact how many of those owners are stupid kids who are going to write it off in some really stupid accident. After you wead out the survivors you will find that the ss/sc's are no longer in production and chev has switch to turbo’s. well that will add value to, suddenly this econobox is like 1 in a million and someone, probably one of us who sold it of to get a bigger family car will see one in mint shape for sale and say "Hey, wow i remember when I had one of those.... man i loved that thing." and the next thing you know you will be shelling out 100k for it or something ridiculous. Don’t be so quick to judge you honestly don’t know what it will be worth, simply because it’s worth as much as you’re willing to pay for it.
