Coming Home to the Cobalt Community

Hello All,

There is a very real possibility that after more than a 3-year hiatus I might be rejoining the Cobalt community after my tax-return.

Although I'm no stranger to Cobalts, you can tell by my sig it was an SS/SC -- sold in August 2009. I would be looking to upgrade my experience to the SS/TC.
After all, my SS/SC was faster than a stock SS/TC, I've read a ton about the incredible advancements and achievements, and I really don't feel like starting back at square one with 1/4 mile times, take-over acceleration, and handling.

My Questions:
1> What should I look for, or what is ideal when searching for one?
1.a.> were there any differences in the model years that I may want to consider -- any options that were only present on or after a certain year?

2> Refering to question 1.a., what is RPD, does anyone have it, and is it so awesome that I should look for one with it?

3> They respond very well to nothing more than a tune. I'm in central PA, who is the best tuner close to me?

4> Anything else I should have asked or should know?

Thanks.

Nope. Its a $295 option when they were bought new. Try and find one with LSD or you'll be doing the one wheel wonder with an aggressive tune.

Nice thought, but NO.

G85 is the magic number - the sticker is in the trunk, under the floor mat.

I dunno, but I was thinking the RPD was '09 and up .

Sedans are ' 09 only, but don't get the RPD , nor the lumbar support on the seat - D'OH !

The RPD does not havea vaccum gauge like the good ol' dial , so that is not as big a loss.

I think 2010's all came w/ sunroofs.

I hope that helps, and someone will be sure to correct any mis statements I may have made.

Good Luck !

Britt

07 and up should all have the AUX jack. i'm not sure where at in central PA you are but BYT is a real good tuner up in the stroudsburg area i believe, only problem is i've been hearing that he's been somewhat MIA the past couple months, otherwise try to find a local Trifecta or HPT tuner

i have an 09 with no usb... but yeah look for the magic g85 number in the trunk.. once you buy the car, order your seft a 3in BADMAB catless downpipe, intake of your choice(i perfer the K&N SRi) and a tune.. such as trifecta, ccss3, BYT, Terminator2, theres a few more but theyre all a lil different, just got read up on em then tune according to your mods... 300+whp and 330+wtrq!

Definitely one of the big selling points. That's what sold me on my '06. I don't mind plastic interiors -- I'm looking for best bang for the buck and after almost 4 years, the cobalt is still number one.
