Cupholder Inserts...
I took my '06 SS/SC in for service today and I'm stuck with an LS Sedan rental while they do the work. I noticed something though.. the LS I've got right now has a rubber insert for the cupholders (the ones between the shifter and center console). My SS/SC doesn't have this insert and I really would like one because anything (pop cans and change especially) rattle like a bitch when they're in my hard plastic cupholders. Question is, should my SS/SC have had these rubber inserts from the factory?

haha I don't smoke either, so it won't quite help.
I'll ask about it when I pick my car up later on today... Strange if they don't come with it, it's not really saving that much weight lol

Bah... to hell with asking about it... just pocket the one out of the rental... they won't miss it. But yeah... my 2.4 came with one... and my SS/SC don't have it.

Nah, I'm not one to steal. I'll pay to get a new one from the dealer or ebay or something, they can't cost that much. I'm just happy to find a fix. Maybe the dealer won't be intelligent and they'll give me a free one thinking they somehow lost it when prepping my car? haha

Heh... well... points to you for being a good person.
I'd wager the dealership will have to "order" one for you... then they won't be able to find the part number... so it'll take a few months... but good luck to you.

The insert is pretty cheap. I've never noticed that my LS has one and my SS/SC doesn't. Goes to show ya how much I pay attention lol

lol should I write a rubber cupholder how-to?
Step 1: go to dealer and buy rubber cupholder
Step 2: place into the cup-holder
Step 3: Now you are DONE! And are as cool as the LS/LT owners!
