I got mine about two months before I did my IC and charge piping, which I just did. Should keep everything nice and clean.

^^^ I have changed the system to eliminate the OEM hose and remove the EFI connector completely, but you have to be prepared to tap the rocker cover output to 1/8 npt 27. Its easy if you have the 1/8 NPT tap , or access to one, and can be done with the rocker cover on the car. The vent hole is perfectly to size for tapping with the nipple removed. We provide a new lower turbo return fitting; it is a new GM part modified with AN 6 male outlet. So many folks are struggling with the OEM connectors, that seemed a reasonable upgrade.

Please let us know if you can do this mod, tapping the cover. Thanks . PS pictures are on my phone, but full instructions are provided via email, its a 15 mb file !

The system works well, and is fully and completely documented.

I can definitely do tap work.

Question is: since now I'm tapping into the cover and not using the OEM hose, would I be voiding my power train warranty? I still have till 2015 with it.

nope cant see how. The PCV upgrade actually improves the PCV performance and keeps oil out of the turbo inlet. But you should scope your inlet valves and get them fixed by GM if they are already coked. This upgrade wont remove whats already there, it will only stop the build up.

also, when tapping, remember you need to put in a small amount of paper or somesuch to block the shavings from entering the rocker cover. Its hard for that to happen as there is a small orifice sized for the PCV there, and then a chamber behind it. But still take care. Then when tapped, remove the paper plug. Dont forget the tap is a tapered one and it will bottom on the orifice hole so measure carefully the depth etc. All explained in the how to, and perhaps when Capn Slo does his he can share his experience. The new turbo fitting has a new seal and its coated in glycerine so should assemble easily. Blue Loctite on the 6 x 1 mm bolt to secure.

Folks have the option: use the OEM hose, or use the braided hose OEM delete. Same price just a choice to make.

If I can avoid any drilling and tapping that would be best. Is the OEM system not very sturdy?

Also, I'm assuming I would scope through the IM after it was removed from the fitting. Is the IM a PITA to get off?

folks are struggling to install the efi connector into the stock hose evidently. The valves can be scoped with a borescope through the brake booster vacuum fitting. remove the fitting scope the valves. you only need to look at one. If one is clean they are all clean. If the car has not been cleaned and the PCV upgraded, then 99 times out of 100 it will be coked. Did one yesterday.

coked.

John I didnt read it on the first page, or the next few following then i got lazy, how much is your twisting beam set up? (including your updated bushings)

A shop messed up threads on the top mounting location for the caliper when Mike owned the car, probably the cause of all his brake issues. I'm worried they arent going to play nice or good business since they sent him on his way with the messed up brakes after repeated stops in complaining of issues. Unless you think chasing or helicoiling the thread would be acceptable. I'm afraid its going to be a serious pain to remove to bolt (already attempted to and learn its seized pretty good) and i'm worried about ruining the mount.

Thanks in advance I'm already starting a PRS parts fund, going to probably buy a lot at once

the caliper is clamped to the TWB by a bracket through a hole that is not threaded. So no problem you may only need a bracket.
check this picture. bear in mind its a converted drum brake car and your car has a welded plate that comprises what you see here in shiny alloy. The bolt goes through the hole in the bracket ( welded plate in your case) and threads into the caliper bracket. This is an LSJ rear caliper but the LNF is the same mounting system just a different caliper

You were talking about tapping in the new fitting for the PCV. Is that what you were working on before sending mine out to Matt?

Ok well I'll make sure to check and have them cleaned before I install the pcv. Honestly which method do you prefer? Tap or OEM hose? I could do both.

tap is way cleaner. The stock hose is such a pita to service and is not serviceable from GM . In other words, you want a new one you gotta get a cover. Unless you are clever. We be clever can take it off but its such a pita i dont even bother. Hammer it out, tap cover and never have to screw with that again. an 6 race style fittings. two wrenches, done.

Talk about having a moment there john, I guess I was irriated that a shop would sent someone out with incorrectly installed brake calipers my thinking went out the window on that. Any idea where I could source that bolt? (Pretty sure its getting cut out, there's ~1/16 between the bracket and bolt head and it won't go either way)
