Damn, just found out that the previous owner of my car never rotated his tires or had an alignment. The inside front treads were gone. Two of my TPMS sensors failed, and one tire has two plugs and a nail in it. Guess I should have looked them over better before I made the purchase.
So now my PCV separator money is going towards tires. Next paycheck!

Its not money, its just difficult to find PSW to work beleive it or not. I had to cancel out of Steddy and Sara's wedding and that was a downer. Mum gets around no problem, but there are a couple of issues: she is British, so she would starve to death if she was normal ,as the British cant cook.
But she is 98, so she has reached the stage where she forgets to eat anyway, even if she could remember how to cook lol.

Brembo's working great BTW. New rotors for the rears should be hear by Tuesday so Ill be tackling that on Wednesday.
#464
Good you got the rotors today you should be set. 25 lbs on the pins and i am thinking off the top of my head about 60 on the caliper bracket bolts...ez with the e brake cable depress the little plastic tab to get the housing out once you release the cable end. good luck

filler up and go. I jump the relay with a relay switch so the pump turns on, and watch it work while I have a coffee. then top it up and done. PS I am about out of cores, May have to start buying unmolested used sc IM Laminova went out of business years ago, no parts.

Ran the other day on the road course on a 20psi tune I had set up myself, low timing running 114 octane. (With a variety of powell parts of course)
Powell YYZ V2
XXX Bar
Harness Bar
Cabs
F and R Yellow Konis
Powell Anti-Oil Starvation Pan
Powell's old Enkei pf01 18 x 9.5
NT01 R compounds
Powell 4.45 Transmission
UNREAL how fast this car was around the track and how it hugged the corners. Grip was crazy. Nothing could touch me at the track lol.
Oil feed line to turbo cracked - ended my day. Ordered a replacement from ZZP. Can't wait to go back out there.
Thanks Powell!

If the car does not pull vacuum I may have to provide a check valve for the oil drain back. Because without vacuum the engine is compressing in the base and its not good. I had a car yesterday with an aftermarket charge pipe and the fresh air intake just stuck on a smooth pipe. No good. It needs an EFI connection. Diesel motors dont pull vacuum and have all sorts of reed valve setups to control blow by, and Mann Hummell who make the oil seperators, suggest a check valve in the oil drain back. For folks with big turbos which dont pull vacuum for whatever reason, this may be needed.
Same for the Turbo inlet the PCV MUST draw vacuum from the turbo which means a return as close to the impeller as possible.
Thanks to all the folks using these PCV upgrades, as I said at the outset, we are learning lots. And David Dreezer, Kevin Janosch, Joe Files and Ephren have provided me excellent feedback. From there we can make changes as we see issues cropping up.
But our PCV assumes good engine mechanical health and correct integration of all the PCV parts, and the fresh air intake is one part of it. Vendors bang out these charge pipes and folks buy cheap, so its rare that a charge pipe has a proper efi connector on it. On the ZZP ZFR there is a proper EFI connector at the turbo, and I am sure Pwerkes would make sure the 4 inch inlet pipe has the proper connector.
Please also read the " how to" . It is long, it is a 15 mb file but it should avoid folks miss installing the system. It DOES NOT bifurcate the fresh air inlet line, it splices the rocker vent line to the turbo...
Some folks sad to say, have hurt motors, and when there is too much oil in the charge air system you risk detonation... from the oil.....

his intake uses a fitting that allows the stock check valve to connect to it and his turbo has a similar to stock setup so its an oem as it gets..... was a pain trying to route the lines because his intakes so massive now. all is done though.
#472
is it an EFI fitting? It must be 3/8 OD, enter the check valve and seal on the o ring, and clip on the efi raised lip to prevent it coming off... a 3/8 straight tube wont work
#474
thats great. it has to be a tight fit. If the seal is lost at any part of the system, or if any ports are blocked off or left out, and there is no vacuum , then oil will be everywhere and the engine will detonate on its own oil if there are no provisions to control this event.

I had my PCV installed by the shop that built my engine and installed my ZFR. I just finished my 1,000 mile break-in and am about to start logging my new tune. I'll post some pictures here to make sure all the connections are right. We had to do a work around because there was not enough room to connect the supplied hose to the turbo because the charge pipe was in the way. We used a spare crank case ventilation tube I happened to have to make the connection.
