Over the winter of 2004 /2005 we build a few race Cobalts for GM. One was the Time Attack car shown here outside our RaceShop. It was the first Cobalt to run an add on rear sway bar I devised and actually had bent and welded up at the GM Milford Proving grounds. It was a 1.25 chromealloy bar
They range from 1.0 ( street, now special order) to 1.25 hardcore to 1.5 xXx.
available red black or any standard pc color. Dont ask for candy colors, it goes under the car!
BTW this is a textured black M62 with a candy orange center coil cover.
Triple X on a car with Pedders

This is for Rockstar thanks for the thread.
Its a 2006 Z06 my son built to specs I developed in the windtunnel and on the track with the owner. Here it is on Forgeline wheels 18 x 12 at front and 18 x 13 at the rear. Area47 tuned normally aspirated 7 litre, 650 rwhp, Holinger 6 speed sequential transmission and lots of ground effects, flat carbon floor, etc etc.
running the car that low took drop spindles front and rear but the benefit of running 2 inches off the ground at the front genereated another 400 lbs of downforce compared to 2.5 inches. Too bad we couldnt run it for long it just wore out the bottom of the car and carbon is not cheap and splinters are tough on tires.

CCW 505a on a C5, my favorite setup. Period. Don't think they would look as good on a Cobalt.
Nice to see that I'm not the only guy running an EGT gauge. That's your Ion that I spotted the EGT in?

Old truck driver that ran a very fueled 3406b JWAC for years. EGT gauge was a "must have." Mine is in the lower spot, where the factory boost gauge used to be. It's the easiest to see with my helmet on.

We do chromealloy under car rail" subframe connectors" They run along the pinch weld bolt and bond to the structure and stiffen the heck out of the car. They come with a really neat jack point which lifts one side of the car from one point. I love them just for that.
449.00 with nut plates and hardware.
Nut plates and rails are powdercoated. four and two bolt Nut plates go through the floor into a mirror plate in the rail under neath.

Powell knows these cars better then anyone in the business and is a pleasure to deal with.
His parts are top notch, without a doubt above all others.
Anyone who has considered his parts, or better yet coming and visiting his shop should not hesitate.
Really cares about his cars and his customers and it shows.

I like this thread for a few reasons....
You finally gave John a functioning website to post pictures & prices of all his parts.
You will be able to read reviews/experiences with his parts from the members who purchased/run them.
Very nice!!

I was in college at the time out at a bar getting some wings with my buddies when that episode was on. I remember watching it like it was yesterday. A few months later I purchased my car

This needs to be stickied.....
I have purchased a number of PRS parts, and I can literally say I can feel a difference with each part added. After I get this wedding out of the way, I hope to purchase more.
I also personally had the pleasure to meet both John and Gloria, and put a face with two names in my email. Great people, excellent hospitality. Johns knowledge is unbelievable when it comes to this platform.

I was a junior in high school lol. Wish I coulda bought one then. My cousin got an 06 ss a few years later and i got my now ancient 05 SS/SC 3 years ago. Still unbelievable how good this platform still is and how nice it is to still have a good aftermarket to back it.

The same car we built for Time Attack was used both on the TV show and the November Button Willlow Time Attack faceoff against Tarzan Yamada and the factory Evo. Tarzan yielded to the Cobalt's speed and Heinricy's driving skill/ The lap time set stood for a number of years and the Cobalt won its class and over-all.
The TV version was the same car; it ran a stage 2 S/C engine. The race version ran the TVS M62 and the 4.45 transaxle we have grown to love and cherish.
The TV version ran pretty much stock body work, and did not have as many aero mods, like the high wing and the deep splitter that came later for the Time Attack on track competition; the car ran at 2200 lbs.
The car had lexan everywhere, and the body shell was gutted of all high strength heavy metal used for seatbelt anchors and air bags, and even ran a Redline alloy bumper beam up front
The testing we did with the Time Attack car at the GM Milford Proving Grounds included using an ice bath in the passenger seat to keep IAT2 in check. The results were awesome for cooling and the tunes that could be run as a result, but the weight of the ice needed to run three laps ( about 150 lbs) offset the power increase capability with a super cooled inlet charge, and the ice bath hit the "trash bin" of neat ideas that just are not practical for all sorts of reasons.
This picture in our race shop shows details like the Ohlins struts we made, the lightweight super strong C5R material for the axle shafts with Pontiac Grand Am wheel bearings and CV joints ( that CV joint size was used for the LNF car in 2008 production ) and improved uprights (G6) 5x114.3 bolt circle etc. Dual pass was not yet developed at the time we started the build, that would come later in the summer of 2005.
when we went to put the Time Attack car on the ground, in May 2005, the new wheels had not arrived, ( we raced on 17 x 9 RF1's) so fortunately Dave in our shop had some bling wheels on his Alero and 5 x 114.3 they fit
This was the wheel we used for shows, an 18 inch Volks wheel.

rotated mounts , dual pass end plates, single pass laminova, just a lot of track testing and dyno cell and cooling room data collection went on through the Perfomance division, leading to more things that worked and found their way to the best handling and refined of all the Cobalts - the FE5 SS LNF turbo. Heinricy shattered records at the Nurburgring with the LNF. Back then before the bankruptcy, an armada of GM engineers, cars and parts were shipped over and spent time in Germany at the 'ring testing Cobalts, Corvettes, CTS V and XLR etc.

The is the Milford Proving Grounds test track in Milford MI. The white colored concrete U shaped turn is a steeply banked 38 degree turn where the front stock LSJ knuckle first broke in testing , (the only time I ever saw that short of breaking in crashes) leading to the upgraded knuckle and then the LNF style knuckle. We never did break a stock LSJ knuckle in our first racing forays, but switched early on to the G6 knuckle to be safe for racing.
This is the first spherical jointed delrin inserted racing control arm
Thanks to forum /customer input we now make an all weather spherical jointed arm and dont use Delrin anymore that worked for racing were salt is not an issue. We now use a superior composite material that resists corrosion.

the show street tuner challenge show was produced by the same guy ,Dan Woods who does Chop Cut Rebuild, and it aired on Speed TV.

Thanks for the pictures to. Time Attack is the car that has inspired me to build my engine. Ever since I picked up my H62, I have been piece by piece trying to build my engine to Time Attack spec.
I have most of the GMR goodies, but need the GMR head to be complete.
