sales make no sense if they
1. annoy or "cheat" customers who paid full price earlier.
2. if our margins are small on largely custom made parts then the sale prices are not that great.
3. We make most of our stuff. It has taken me probably 20 hours to perfect one of our latest systems, apart from the (years) it takes to devise good solutions trying stuff.
4. at best you might get a military "consideration" for serving. which may be reduced shipping and we do our best to combine shipping items. We take large items to NY to reduce shipping costs to our customers even though it can be a pita for me to do that.
5. we help people and often warranty or take back parts that really we shouldnt to help folks out
6. bottom line no sales lol
ps group buys done the classic way require folks to front up money and then everyone waits until the last guy gets on board before the items ship. I think that sucks

I have done black friday sales and the opinion around here with gloria and myself is this.

Powell's stuff is already worth twice the price, so you don't need a sale.
And that's a great point you make John: If you don't mark your products up to the moon, there's no reason to mark them down either ;-)

Could I get people's opinion on which size sway bar, hardcore or XXX, is best for an autocross application? I don't want to go so thick that I am drifting all over the place. The ideal setup for tires I would want to run(blatantly stolen from Spank as I believe he goes by on these boards, thanks a million to him) is 285/30/18 R-comps in front with 255/30/18 R-comps in rear. This is the car running 285/30/18 takeoff hoosier A6's in front, and 295/30/18 takeoff hoosier A6's in rear because that's all I could get for free at the time to test. Only suspension mods thus far are camber bolts to get -2.5 degrees of camber in the front. Figured the sway bar would be the next best thing to do for handling.

tomorrow i will hopefully be ordering powell CABs and the rotated trans mounts.
now im not very familiar with trans mounts. i do not have the car with me so i cant look under it at the moment. earlier this summer i looked under it and the front lower motor mount looked to be in rough shape. the rubber gromet was getting pretty loose i guess you could say.
which rotated mount would i need? sorry to sound like a newb but im not very familiar with trans/motor mounts as i have never replaced them befor.
i think from when i looked under the car this summer, there were 2 mounts underneath the car. 1 in front of the motor and one in the back.

right^^ you have a TC therefore a good rear mount; dont look at the void in the insert and figure its no good, TC mounts last a long time. Rotation is achieved by raising the rear with a spacer and dropping the front with a new mount; $110 plus shipping. Cabs are 199. we are good to go if you are, orders@powellraceparts.com

seeing as this is the powell discussion thread figured I'd mention this here.. Just upgraded from the Hardcore bar to the XXX bar. Took a couple trials to get tire pressures adjusted to where I like them with the new found stiffness, but overall its a great piece of equipment. I'm really getting to like how the car handles when setup for track days, although I have found that on "daily driving pressures" ~30-34 F/R psi the car gets pretty snappy in the steering response over the hardcore bar and it will actually oversteer slightly... so knowing that I just be a bit more careful with it on the street (not to say you cant just throttle out anyways, but you get the point).. but like I said, fantastic part to use when I have tire pressures dialed in a bit lower in the rear on track days
I'm on YYZ V1's and 235/40/18 BFG KDWs as well for what its worth to you all...

^^^^ This. The first time I tracked the xXx bar, i got it hung out a bit in corner 9 at Mosport, and it came down to driver mod. You drive the car differently the way its set up and you tune the tire pressures differently.
it also says you need decent tires, the grippier the better. On Z2 the car is perfect for me.

I definately could use something with more grip, but until the KDW's are toast (which given how amazing they are wearing might be a while) I sadly wont be getting anything stickier any time soon..
How a set of front tires can take 47 drag passes, 4 AutoX's, and 8k miles (no rotations) without showing ANY DRASTIC wear difference from the rears is simply blowing my mind considering I burnt through a set of all seasons in 8 months

I emailed gloria, so I'm sure I will hear back from her tomorrow.
Any idea how long it would take for shipping and how much? I'm in minnesota

its an entire new front mount; should take 3-5 days. Its generally pretty good shipping times canada to USA. For some reason the other way doesnt work as well on my CED stuff lol
