John, do you custom make 5mm spacers? I need two 5x110 5mm spacers with the Cobalt center bore (65.1mm) with a hub centric size of 72.6 for a set of wheels I bought. The front needs spacing out just a hair so the center caps will stay in the wheels. I wanted to ask you before I sent an email to Gloria.

EDIT:
If not, I already have a set of hub adapters I can use, and I'll just order two regular 5x110 5mm spacers.

you only have 5 mm to play with you want to put it on a 65 center bnore and then grow somehow to 72.6? cant happen.

you can get 71.6 rings in plastic that are 65.1 in bore that clip into the wheel those should be readily available at any decent aftermarket wheel store, they keep great boxes of rings to suit every application. then all u need is a pair of our spacers...

thanks for this thread btw I am going to excerpt some links to the new website material i am writing in december.

you are a rockstar indeed!

I bought a set of Enkei Kojin 18x9.5 wheels for my SS sedan. Those wheels have a center bore of 72.6mm. The Cobalt's hub is 65.1mm. I already have the aluminum hubring's to make the wheels fit correctly on the Cobalt hub, but I need two 5mm spacers for the front.

What's the part # for your 5mm spacers so I can get in touch with Gloria? Same as the part # on the original post of this thread?

**As for this thread, I'm glad it stuck as good as it did! There's lot of GREAT information in here that needs to be consolidated so people who are searching can easily access it. You're the man, John!

Sorry if it was said somewhere in this thread, but IIRC I read somewhere that Powell offers a stronger/racing roll pin for our cars? Can anyone confirm this, and how much it costs?

I dont have a problem with it, just figured id upgrade because everyone seems to have an issue. Never realized it was only a problem with the f35. Thanks

They only have hardened rollpins for the F35 since they break the F23 doesn't have that issue thus none.

Edit:ninja'd again

Update on braking with Brembo's. I love HP1000 ferodo stock pads, but for winter I decided to try some cheap ass Bendix metal master pads. I originally purchased them for C_D_88 but Chris decided to go with OEM not cheap like he suggested. I run Cobalt Brembo's on my SAAB wntrbtr2. SAAB had the weaksos 5 x 110 pcd wheels, so you know where GM got it from ugh.

I will not use these pads in the summer, the fade resistance and high speed stopping modulation would not be good enough. BUT that said, just like putting on winter tires, these Bendix cheap ass pads work great, good cold weather modulation, and less brake dust which is handy for winter clean up rinsing off the horrible road salt.

Seeing as how amazon had these pads on sale the other day for 37 dollars, its an interesting winter experiment , and will save my good pads for summer.

NOTE the pin kit supplied with these pads is wrong the pins are too short and will not work in the cobalt brembo caliper.

Great info. I'm normally not one to skimp on brake pads, but that's a lot less than the OEM pads. Then again, the race pads I run in summer (DTC-70) are $260 for just the front so whenever I do order the Ferrodos I feel like I'm getting a deal already ;-)

Very good, just emailed her. Also looking to see how much a set of R100 brackets go for?

Also kind of off topic, but John have you ever raced at Thompson in CT? Did you see their new plans for the road course for the track? Im very exited to participate in this this year.

never did. heard of it, talked about it. I did go to Lime Rock often, they had a tuesday open test day, and I went down in 1971 to test my new to me Chevron B17 formula car, sucked the life right out of me it was so fast, 900 lbs and 200 hp whoo hoo.

Went many times after that with different race cars. One thing never changed ; its the biggest pita of any track to get to from Canada... and the hotels are nowhere close and often outrageously priced.

Lots of deer

Very nice state though. NEngland is great. My only even more fave state is AZ especially this time of year....

Used to go to Old Lyme CT where Reeves Callaway started his businees. You know, a poor guy, just a hoist in his garage at his 150 year old pre revolution slum house...
