Update on mounts: I am trying a non voided insert that AC Delco sell as an FE5 part. I am not sure how it will work out, if there are issues I will of course replace it, but at the moment we have a boat load of incorrectly or poorly made bushing inserts for mounts I wont use, and I am about tired of this lol.

John - I have a question on the Stage 2 mounts being installed on my LSJ. Is a keyhole spacer needed for the rear LNF mount?

Stage 2 should be Powell front and rear mounts? Only stage 1 is the front mount with a spacer for the rear mount using the stock mount (lsj or lnf).

My stage 2 Mounts came with a Powell front and LNF rear

Instructions from Powell "Stage 2 includes everything in stage 1 save that the keyhole spacer is not needed, as the rise is built into the mount, or (preferred, upgrade rear mount to an LNF TURBO mount. LNF of course dont really need a stage 2"

yes. LSJ have a weak rear mount. These rotated mounts were developed four years before the LNF came out. And there was a desire to have me develop alloy mounts. They are expensive to make.

after the LNF came along, we decided to create a good result for less money, using the rear LNF mount with a spacer; this along with a new front, became our stage 2.

And LNF are already there with a good rear mount.

Thanks to John for producing some great products. Got first place at the Toledo Express autocross in SMF class. Only have YYZ V.3 and Direzza Z2's at this point but I will be getting some more goodies from him in due time.

Have some understeer on the long sweepers so I'm hoping a hardcore or XXX bar will deal with that. Going through the slalom I could just throw it between the cones and it gripped and hooked beautifully. Will have a Gopro for videos next time.

^^^ the bar will perfect the balance; hardcore for most people xXx for Z2 would be awesome. First run will be a little loose until the Z2 get some temperature. If the first run is critical bump the pressure up 4 lbs to help generate temp; then drop the 4 lbs for the next run...

If I remember correctly the design/specs have not changed, so yes.

XXX it is. Thats what I initially did. Played around with it a bit to try to find a good spot. Only had 3 runs (205 car field) so I could only do so much.

I would prefer yellow, but let me know if you have a black XXX in stock at the moment and I'll see if the finances align for me to purchase it this week.

EDIT: After some thinking, I'll be going with a hardcore bar to start off. The car felt pretty darn good and once I get other Powell goodies next season along with Koni's, I'll see if I need to upgrade to a XXX.

YYZ V.3's but V.5 will sit exactly the same. I need some stickier tires. I'd also recommend going strait to the XXX to save some money in the long run.

John, from researching other things I ran across a thread yesterday (from 2013) in which you commented something along the lines of adjustable front top hats for camber were being made to work with the stock FE5 or Koni combo. Did this fall through or is it out there and I don't know about it?

I had an idea that we could develop an adjustable top hat using the stock strut. As we developed plans for that idea we did this: we looked at the real estate available ( room in the top strut housing); the amount of modification required ( cut the top housing, especially Redline/Ion which would take a ginormous amount of work; and we added up the cost of what would be T6061 top hat plates, monoball spherical or cross axis sealed joint we then reviewed what we wanted against the cost involved.

we wanted camber adjustablity. we wanted caster adjustability.

we wanted it to be relatively easy and affordable, and robust.

so. Our ideas would price out at about 1000 dollars for an adjustable top hat.

we would gain caster ( good but not a deal breaker) and we would gain probably 2 -3 degrees of camber adjustability. ( we get negative 1 degree or so just be lowering on YYZ springs.)

or we could spend 13 dollars and free shipping on this:
Amazon.com: Moog K90473 Camber Adjusting Bolt Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Moog K90473 Camber Adjusting Bolt Kit: Automotive
and get the same thing

or just oval the strut housing the way GM suggest for a little bit of your home made labor.
Not fancy at all but it works.

SO

we forgot about it.
