Does anyone have a Hurst STS with a weighted knob?

I have the TWM and I don't know how anyone can say they don't feel a difference unless you don't have the bushings and upgraded clamp because the only difference is in throw length. I have tried with and without and the bushings and clamp make all the difference IMO and adds the more precise feel. I have never tried hurst so can't comment on that but the TWM is a great product. I think it is overpriced but is it worth it? that depends if you think spending $300+ on "shift feel" and no increase in power or handling capabilities is worth it.
because when you shorten the shifter, you shorten the moment arm which means you have to push with greater force to move the shifter. the extra inertia helps reduce that effect

heh heh according to this forum I shift like an ape so I guess a weighted knob would be bad for me. Personally I have the Hurst ST and really enjoy the feel over stock. A buddy had the TWM on his and it almost felt taller than the Hurst. I also put on the TWM Shifter Clamp which was a better investment than the shifter...Huge difference. (not to mention knowing that silly little cable will never bend or shift out of place again) When I was out at SEMA last year I talked to the guy at the Hurst booth about a replacement shifter ball and how the threads were impossible to match with any other aftermarket company. He laughed and said he remembered the SS shift knob (thought it was a high quality piece) Long story short I came home with three brand new Hurst shifter knobs

oh I do agree that a lighter knob gives more feedback and would be more performance oriented. I was explaining why the knob doesn't affect the upgraded shifter feel IMO. A lighter knob would give more resistance and more resistance gives you more feedback but that's different from a more precise shift feel so a weighed knob would not muddy up the better shift feel. in terms of feedback, a weighed or a light knob is still an upgrade over stock because the shifter with the weighed knob still requires more force than stock IMO. why don't you like the TWM shifter even with a lighter knob btw?

I don't want to go off on a rant this early in the morning, haha, but it is the one mod I've done on the car that I really really wish I hadn't.
Stock shifter with aluminum bushings would have been fine.
Let's see, the issues I have with it are 1) It has popped out of the cable clamp twice, even with the supplied snap ring C clip properly place with proper snap ring C clip pliers. 2) (my biggest complaint by far)The reverse lockout tang isn't positioned properly, so in order to make it work right you have to adjust the shifter too far to the right where it feels unnatural - the stock one was way better in this regard. And 3) the shifter was missing a piece when I got it, the jam nut for adjusting the shifter ball. Fortunately Sevensix9 here on the forums had one to give me.
It's a lot of money for a shifter that comes with pieces missing, can't be adjusted properly, and doesn't seem to hold together.
And that is way more than I wanted to say about the TWM in a Hurst thread
I've had hurst shifters in various cars before and been really really happy with the quality and feel. I want to try one in my Cobalt.
