Does this sound about right?

So just got my wheels back from powder coating and going to get them put on tomorrow. I was going to wait, to put them on because I am getting coils here in a week or two, but I called up to see how much it would be and explained what I was wanting to do. He sold me on a package thats $268 including tax and includes a 3 year alignment, so align now and when I get coils on get it realigned with no extra charge, and lifetime rotate mount and balance. My buddy is convinced that there is no way they will be able to align the coils because it wont fit on the rack. I'm not sure cause I am only looking to do a 2" drop max on my '06 ss/na.

Any opinions or anything else I should ask them before I drop close to $300?

Thanks,

Matt

powder coat $50/wheel $200
alignment $70
plus tax %0.07 (my state)
total $288.90

and you get free alignments for 2 years, and free lifetime rotate, mount, and balance.
sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Lol no idea where that's at but this is after the powder coating. I already paid for that, so this is separate. ^ I wish I could have gotten that deal!

Oh so... $268 for a 3 year alignment?

How many times do you plan on getting it aligned.

Wait for your coils to put your wheels on, do it all at once.

Thats very expensive, just wait to put the coils on then go get it aligned. There is no reason you should need to have your car aligned multiple times.

Well the reason I was going to do it this way is because the tires that are on the car aren't in too great of shape because I knew I was going to be doing this this summer, so I put off getting new tires. I was going to go get them mounted and balanced and aligned. Then in 2 weeks to a month, when I get the coils on I will go and get it realigned. It's not a big deal to leave the car there to get it aligned, just drop it off saturday morning and pick up later in the day, its right by my house.

I guess my concern is that it wont fit on the alignment rack once it is lowered and then the 3 year alignment does me no good. What should I be looking to pay for something similar to what I listed?

Thanks for the input!

when u do suspension mods an alignment is needed, firestone does life time alignment (life of the vehicle)

i did my lowering springs then i did it for my steering rack spacers and soon ill be on coil overs

cant u just bring some 2x4s and get the car on to the lift or rack that way?

idk if that 3 yr deal that great if u can get life time some where else

You'll have problems with any lowered car depending on the alignment machine they use. I have the sportlines and they had to lay down 3 rows of scrap rotors and plywood on top of that. Coilovers or just coils and struts?
If its coil overs Id make sure whomever knows what they are doing with coilovers 1st before they just wing it

Yeah, I called them back and they said that they had worked on coils many times and they can get just about any car onto the lift. I'll give firestone a call, they just have a pretty bad rep. This place offers a lifetime alignment for like $20 more just not sure if I will ever use it.

I did some more calling around and they have the lowest lift in town. Sorry should have specified, coilovers. I'm going with the BC Coilovers and am really looking to only drop it about 2" max. This is supposed to be "the" place in town for coils.

I got the lifetime alignment at firestone for like 150 a couple years ago...as long as I own the car i never have to pay for an alignment again lol. and as far as getting it on the rack make sure they've done a lowered car before. they should have some boards that make it easier to get it on the lift.

Their alignment is $160 lifetime but to get the rotate, mount and balance is an extra $110 lifetime on all four tires.
